So, Barrin and I are working on the history of the Brushfire and Starleaf families, and because the Brushfires are from Ackleberry, and the Starleaves from the Seren, the idea for the first story was to have our great-grandfathers meet in Newton and go questing in Lolliprin/Smoke mountain. This would be before the taint wars. Except, I then remembered that Lolliprin was named after Lolly Pringle from the taint wars.
So my question is, am I right in saying that the gnomes lived on Smoke Mountain, and were friendly with the shroomies before the taint wars, and that the shroomie's land was named Lolliprin by the Newton Caven explorers cause they didn't know what it was called by the shroomies? I can't go check, cause they won't let me in.

I've no idea where Lolliprin as a name came from - it sounds like Lolly Pringle, but can you direct me to the piece of lore that says it was named after him? It could be only a crazy coincidence.
However, I'm sure that Newton was discovered before the Taint Wars. Read the histories - the first article from the awful Dairuchi gazette mentions imported dust from Newton Caverns.

Lusternian lore doesn't seem to do much with coincidence. However, I don't know of any lore that expressly says why it's called that.

Er, actually no. I'm sure someone told me and I just believed them. That'll teach me to check my facts. I did wonder vaguely why gnomes would name a place after a furrikin.

Thanks.

There's nothing saying that the area wasn't renamed afterwards by the people visiting it in order to commemorate Lolly Pringle.
Or maybe it's just a coincidence.
