A new skill, around master combat. Takes 8 seconds of eq to make your next jab/swing hit with 100% accuracy. Drops upon movement. Useful for rituals, where missing would look rather silly.
Malicia2008-03-23 22:17:43
That's a terrible idea.
Unknown2008-03-23 23:50:02
If the skill took no power, that would be great...except for the 8 seconds of equilibrium, hah.
Gregori2008-03-24 00:26:10
How about we just not miss at Trans. Nobody else misses, and it might only be 5%, but come on with stance, rebounding, parry do we really need to miss as well?
5% doesn't sound like a huge deal, but when you miss 3 times in a row (not hit stance, but miss) that 5% suddenly jumps out and annoys you.

You've got 8 seconds during a ritual. It's just so I don't look like a fool stabing someone in the chest and missing while trying to offer their heart on an altar.

emote stabs someone in the chest and offers their heart on the altar.
In other words, we don't need crap hard coded so you don't look like an idiot.

That will not actually kill them. The killing them part is important!

RP the miss away as a test to see if they would flinch.
I understand the frustration but I agree with the others that such a niche skill would not be a good idea.

If this is for roleplay purposes, it'd be better to give the command to the victim. Make a very-low-level skill in Discipline:
This could have lots of uses beyond just the ritual Greleag speaks of.
(In Aetolia, kneeling would prevent most defenses and dodges, so this was already pretty close. Not sure how much kneeling does in Lusternia. It probably doesn't give warriors the 100% hit chance!)
QUOTE(AB DISCIPLINE SURRENDER)
Syntax: SURRENDER TO
             SURRENDER OFF
Yield to your opponent. While you have elected to surrender, any passive dodging or counterattack ability (parries, stances, riposte, acrobatics dodging, shrugging poisons, justice counterattacks, etc.) will not work, and foes who have a chance to miss will never miss against you. You can turn this back off at any time, even when asleep, paralyzed, off balance, etc. This cannot be forced. Note that your opponent, and others present, will see that you've surrendered.

Being prone stops stancing/parrying here, but not missing for some reason.

Because missing has it's own chance to happen. Prone doesn't negate those chances.
Hopefully this next envoy report, missing will be fixed.

Well, I know mechanically why it happens, I just don't know why it wasn't changed the same time stancing was. Oh well.
