You say, "Oh, and possibly 'cos I'm a little nuts. I think I've travelled in
time, Divinity."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "I was originally planning on
taking Twilxo out into the aetherways and show him how skilled a pilot I have
become."

You say, "I have an excellent reason for Believing I've time travelled, 'cos
i've been gone for almost ten years, and distinctly remember being in another
time for those ten years, in amazing detail”

The air vibrates with a profound sense of amusement.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "If time moves at
a different pace, does that make it time travel?"

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "That is a matter of
definition, at which I would answer "yes"."
You say, "It depends, Divinity. Surely if one was moving through time at a
different pact to others, to them, he would be time travelling, relitivly."

You say, "And I more time teleported."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "If you sleep till
tomorrow, is that time travel?"

You say, "I would say not, Divinity, since anyone observing you will be
'travelling' at the same pace as you, thus in relative terms, you will be
chronologicly stationary."

Kiradawea ponders the situation.

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "That is the crux of the issue,
isn't it?"

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Relativity."

You say, "Since we all move through time, there is no 'objective' view one can
be in to determine ones time travel."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "But the subjectivity of time
is what makes timetravel possible."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "If there wasn't two different
objects to experience time at two different wavelengths, then there would be no
timetravel."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "I approve of your
reasoning, it is only travel if one moves faster than the other."

Kiradawea nods her head emphatically.
"Thank you, Divinity.

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Those who do experience time
at the same pace."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "They relate their experiences
regarding time to one another and draw the conclusion that they are working on
the same wavelength of time."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "If for no other reason than
that is what seems the most logical."

You say, "If you want me to tell you what I experienced, Divinity, I would be
more than happy to divulge. Its rather, odd, and you might find it interesting."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "It may not be true though.
Logic is, after all, a relative factor unto itself."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "How do you
evaluate your own senses?"

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "How would you
check for example, if you and I moved at the same pace through time?"

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Ah, but that isn't enough."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Say you have two individuals.
Person A and person B."

You tilt your head and listen intently.

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Person A and B are in the same
location. B is standing completely still, while A is moving forward at a certain
velocity."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Let us now assume that, at the
moment when A and B are at the exact same spot, two gusts of wind start to blow
and flow towards A and B at the same speed."
You say, "Velocity being displacement over time, ah, i'm seing it."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Now, B which is standing right
in the middle will feel both gusts at the same time."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "He will then say that the two
gusts started to blow at the same point of time."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "A, who has moved towards one
gust and away from the other, will not say that though."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Because the gusts will not hit
him at the same point of time."

You say, "We're assuming that A believes he is stationary?"

Kiradawea nods her head emphatically.

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "But thinking about that
scenario, one can ask oneself who is correct. Person A who says that the Gusts
did not start at the same time, or Person B, who says that the Gusts started at
the same time."

You say, "I'm not sure that works. Sure, A would -reason- that the gusts started
at differing times, but if he had the appropriate instruments, he would then
reason they did start at the same time, only one was closer to him."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "The real problem
here is that in order to put an observation into perspective you will have to
relate it to something."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Light only seems
bright when it's dark, blue only appears colourful next to black."

Kiradawea nods her head emphatically.
You say, "Precisely, Divinity."

You say, "We have nothing to compare our passage through time to."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "At least nothing that we know
of here."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Exactly. Because

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "We determine
speed according to two points in distance and two points in time."

Kiradawea nods her head emphatically.

You nod your head emphatically.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Let Me create an
example."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Let us say that
you suddenly take a dislike to Twilxo here and decide to kill him. I am
reasonably sure that he is not ready to die yet and since he loves you he will
not turn on you, so he will run instead."

Kiradawea nods her head emphatically.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "To run from here
to the dock would take him a certain amount of time."

You nod your head emphatically.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Kiradawea would
then call this 'quick' or 'slow' depending on how long it takes her to get to
the dock. She will be either quicker or slower, now, since I have no wish to see
anyone killed today, let us suppose that she is slower."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Kira will watch
the run and estimate for herself how long it takes. We shall refer to this
amount of time as X."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "I will watch as
well, however, my perception of time we shall call Y."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Now imagine that
Y is twice as big as X. Ergo, time moves slower for Me than for Kira."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "However, if we
were to communicate with eachother about this, we would still both agree that
Kira was slower than Twilxo."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "So how would we
ever figure out that we saw things differently?"

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "If we both had a device that
would measure time according to the one who held it..."

"Threatening to sound a little insane here, but the people in the future told me that as one increases in objective velocity, their mass also increases. Thus, surely an objective view of velocity could be garnered by measuring this change in mass, and thus, since distance is the same in all relitivities, time could be figured out. One could use this as a reference, and compare the apparent masses for You, Divinity, and Kira
.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Sadly, both of
those arguments do not apply here."

Kiradawea nods her head emphatically.

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "They do not."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "For we are
speaking of the 'perception' of time, the objects themselves are still moving at
the same speed, we are merely perceiving it differently."

You mutter, "I sp..t weeks on th.. argument .. ..e Univers...."

Kiradawea's eyes sparkle with amusement.

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "That would assume that speed
is directly tied into time."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "Which would again mean that."

Postulant Kiradawea, Compassion's Radiance says, "If we were to transfer this to
a mathemathical formula, in order to have time, you must have speed."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Not at all, but
we are not measuring the speed of the runners here, but the speed of the
observers."

You say, "But who's observing the speed of the observers?"

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "The observer uses
his own observations to relate events to one another. He cannot relate his own
observations to those of another because he does not have access to the
observations of another."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "So as long as
one's passage through time was constant, one would not notice that it could
possibly be different from anyone else's."
You say, "But you can be in two places at once, Divinity. Thus can you do that?"

The air vibrates with a profound sense of amusement.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "I would still
only be comparing Myself to Myself."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "The only way I
could gain information about this would be if at different points in time I
experienced times at different speeds."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "But then still, I
could make no assumptions about the speeds with which other people experience
time."
You say, "True, Divinity, very true."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "To come back to
My earlier argument however."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "By accepting this
argument one accepts that what shards generally refer to as 'time travel' is a
change in the speed at which time is experienced. Others would not see this. In
fact, by that reasoning we are all traveling through time at different speeds."

A sense of quiet bemusement creeps into the vicinity.

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "Consider this,
and when you have answers, seek Me out and we shall continue this discussion."

Emanating from the aether, a sonorous multi-toned voice says, "We shall speak
again."

The energy in the air suddenly lifts, leaving a strange feeling of bereavement.
