So, we all have that first memory of Lusternia that made you enjoy the game. What was yours?
Mine was back when I was a little Doman, Hartstone. I made an offhand comment at the Moonhart that I got my first Neocredits (if they were still neocreds back then, it's been a few years) and out of nowhere, Kalodan transferred me 10 credits and was like "And now you have ten more." This was right after I came from Achaea, mind you, where that is completely unheard of. Needless to say, I was like
That was what completely took me from Achaea and got me here.
What are your stories?

Being a novice Aquamancer, totally being the dictator of newton with icewalls.

Imperian had pissed me off, was a diavlous in Stavenn, and my mentor killed me because I killed a Carrion Crawler in the sewers before she managed to
So, I came here to cool off, and fell in love with the Basin!
Yeah, I knw that isn't really what you were looking for, but close enough.

Most of the people who roped me into Lusternia are either not active are hate my guts now. Still for every person who hates me now, I have made a new friend, and have come to enjoy the atmosphere of the game.
Although I have a feeling the next few weeks are either going to be a lot of fun, or a lot of grief. Sadly, the latter seems more likely, but oh well.

Unique skills. None of this Noctu = Occultism crap.
Also: Maelee, Penelope, Shayle, and Xavius.
I love you all, wherever you are.

The Serenguard made me feel welcome, and I'd never really played an online game that was this rich in history and culture. When I found out it was all player-driven guilds and politics, I knew I'd found a place to hide out
PS to Callia -- I'm not one of the ones that hates you, certainly not OOC . I just love bantering back and forth.

See, another reason Lusternia rocks! Little thing called IC/OOC separation! Though can't seem to figure why Callia would hate Ev after one little post .

The thing that got me hooked was when I had my first character, an Aquamancer, everyone was REALLY patient in helping me out. I had NO idea how to learn anything, or any of the syntaxes and people where REALLY helpful and really patient.
Saaga2008-04-20 19:24:40
Elostian. Nuff said.

What got me hooked must have been that there was viscantis. I mean, there isn't a race like that in the other ire games, from what I remember. Plus cool histories.

Xavius seducing Butter to kill poor honeycake-gathering, happy-go-lucky newbie me is what got me to stay and hate Gloms IC and RL. Arrrr. >:(

When I logged on I actually saw, get this...Roleplaying
The combat was cool
and it wasn't hard to get the controls down

I had read the histories and was riveted, but the moment I was hooked was hearing people talking on Serenwilde CT, in the first weeks of open beta, about how they'd found Glomdoring, and they were finding people and creatures there that were mentioned in the histories, and figuring out quests related to them. That's when I realized we didn't just have a beautiful and compelling history, but it wasn't just the past -- it extended right into right now, we were potentially part of it, and every bit of that wonderful story could also be a clue about what we would want to do next.

Just in, a poll from the Glomdorian Gazette 'Thing I Would Most Likely Do If I Could Time Travel'
Coming up first, with 96.2% of the votes was:
Go back in time and stop Xavius from seducing Butter and killing Sojiro in the process.
As for what got me about the game, I loved the atmosphere around here. Most people were very friendly. (And Nejii always confused me with his gender)
Callia2008-04-20 19:55:24
Everiine, Callia doesn't hate you for one post, she hates you because you are a Seren :-p -innocent-

I was (still am!) hooked on the intense, deep roleplay aspect. I'm not much of a PvP-er, and I didn't know of many games that had such in-depth RP until I was introduced to Lusternia. So now I'm addicted.
Arel2008-04-20 20:24:11
I first started out in the Geomancers which was insanely fun. There was the all around atmosphere of conflict, a sort of urgency to influence villages to Magnagora, and the ever present struggle to get power into the Megalith back when no one had any power.
Plus, there was a guy named Noku and he always went around trying to joust people on his taint wyrm.

Gaudiguch the city of Fire, because nothing else matters. Of course when I heard about the lost city, that's why I am sticking around.
