ANNOUNCE NEWS #1065
Date: 4/21/2008 at 23:29
From: Morgfyre, the Legion
To : Everyone
Subj: Avenger and Events
There has been a lot of feedback from you regarding events and Avenger,
and we have listened!
What does this mean?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have created a way for Avenger to turn a blind eye towards certain
areas in times of conflict to help facilitate events more smoothly in
the future. This means that these areas will be treated similarly to
non-Prime PK for the duration of the event.
This does not mean, of course, that you have a blank check to run around
psychopathically murdering people (I reserve that right to myself!).
Please exercise restraint and thoughtfulness towards your fellow
Lusternians - including your adversaries - in such times.
How do I know if an area is open PK?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two ways! First, when you log into the game, you will see a glaring
notice if any areas are currently open PK. You will not know which areas
or how many areas, so as to not ruin the event, however!
Secondly, you can SURVEY in any location, and if the Avenger is turning
a blind eye to events in that area, you will be aware of it.
When will areas be made open PK?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is solely at the discretion of the Powers That Be. It is rather
futile to beg, plead, or cajole the Gods to bribe the Avenger into
looking the other way - they do not hold that sort of power over him.
The Avenger himself will make the determination as to when to look the
other way, and it will be sparingly.
Enjoy!

Schweet improvement!
I wonder how they (or just Morg?) coded this, must be interesting...

They probably just cribbed some of the code from the Free-PK Hamsterhunt/Death Challenge/etc and made whatever changes to make it apply to certain areas only.
Doesn't make it any less awesome though.

Our Gods are awesome Gods.

Just wanted to add to the rave.
This should make future events less frustrating for everyone. I appreciate how small the time was between constructive player feedback and admin response. Hopefully this will encourage players who are frustrated to give plausible solutions to their problems and not just rant.

That is a great relief. Much kudos should be delivered.

Coo!

Le cheers.

Much-needed change. Still impressed the admins dealt with it so promptly following that last event. Good job!
Dysolis2008-04-22 01:25:03
it couldn't have hurt to made the change before the event begun?
Doman2008-04-22 01:26:01
I believe this is in response to the event.

You know that isn't good enough for a select few. They need reasons to complain.
Good work though on making that step in the right direction

I have to agree that this is going to make events better.
Yay divines!
Yay divines!
Everiine2008-04-22 17:10:35
This will definitely help Avenger concentrate only on unwarranted attacks instead of battles taking place in a legitimate event.
