Hanging tough at 95%, better than the original Spiderman and X-Men movies.

Do want. Have tickets for tomorrow.

Whoa, seriously? I might have to just see this.
Unknown2008-05-02 02:42:09
Haha, I noticed that in the papers too. I was surprised... was never a fan of the 'technology makes man superhero' thing, but maybe...

I can only watch it on Monday. :cries:

Oh, and Iron Man gets a second ongoing comic series starting this month. I wonder why? He seems to have been in more comics than Wolverine recently...

Oh, that must be why I seem to be buying more and more X-Men books every month. Sneaky.

And I get to wath Iron Man tomorrow morning now, yay.

Whatever plans you have: POSTPONE THEM. Go and see this movie. It is the best movie Marvel has made to date. I use it as a "moron indicator:" those critics who give it negative reviews are summarily dismissed. Downey, Bridges, and Paltrow give amazing performances.

And for the love of God- don't walk out early, or you will kick yourself, hardcore.

I'm actually really torn. Not about whether or not it's an awesome flick, but rather--just how awesome.

It is, by far, the best Marvel movie, displacing Spider-man 2 pretty handily.

But I'm not sure if I can place it above Batman Begins (or if it'll rival the upcoming Dark Knight). I think I'll need to watch them both again to be sure. tongue.gif

What do you guys think?

Umm.. not that much in the way of digital special effects, really. Aside from the suits..but that's surpisingly little of the film. Not that much fighting, either. Decent bit of comedy though, and all of it is good. No nude women.

Really, it's the story and the character development, the performances, and the story. They are all just top-notch. Even as a "birth of a superhero" installment, it is always exciting and interesting. Just an overall good film, whether in regards to Comic Book movies or not.

No nude women.

No, but the assistant was insanely hot, in a schoolteacher sort of way

Shaddus,

NOT cool, man. -50 points.

The part after the credits was disappointing.

1: Why does he have to cameo in EVERY GOD DAMN MOVIE EVER? (PS I am a fanatical fan of his work, it is just getting a TEENY bit old).

2: Why does marvel keep changing the race of pivotal characters? While I appreciate diversity, both Fisk and Fury are deeply ingrained in a memory of reading comics for decades. Meh.

Other than my negativity, the moving was A++++++++++++++++++++++ awesome.

Dude, what the hell? In the Ultimates universe, that's what Fury looks like. Dead ringer. Now yeah, you could say he should be the same as the regular comics, but it's not that big a deal is it? Anyways, I haven't seen him cameo in many movies except Tarantino/ cult following ones, so it's not that bad. I'm glad you at least appreciated the movie overall. biggrin.gif

Only THIRTY YEARS of him being that way...
Diamondais2008-05-03 05:13:56
I just got back from the late show, ee! wub.gif
Karnagan2008-05-03 05:14:08
If I was thirty years old, I'd hold to that. As it is, I think thirty year continuity is asking too much from everyone involved in comics, and always has been.

Still hated Infinite Crisis, though.
