my chain is 196/194/210, so why NOT a bit more in a stat?

Because even +1 speed would be a noticeable difference. +10 would be incredible. Monks would then be re-balanced to fit every monk having +10 speed. Easier to just leave it as is.

They use to be able to be coalrune-able, but it was changed exactly for the reason Synl mentioned

Well, now that I went Illithoid, it's Damage: 201 Precision: 199 Speed: 215

So, I guess I am happy.. I guess
