Ok, before I go putting my foot in my mouth, are there any other families besides Starleaf who claim to be descended from Glinshari? Besides this Jaryn guy from the dell, that is.

Don't think so. But AFAIK the Starleaf family never asked for permission to be a historical family (which you have to do for it to be valid.) So their claiming to be the only ones trumps that, I'm afraid.

I don't think we claim to be the only descendents. And it was only recently that it was suggested that we might be. How do you go about applying to be a historical family?
According to our family lore,(which may not be entirely accurate) the Starleaf family was founded by Banon Strongleaf of Serenwilde and Elyn Darkstar of Gloriana, before the taint wars. So Banon would have left the Strongleaf family, so we're an offshoot or something.

You don't have to claim to be the only ones, the mob is the only one.
As for how you'd go about applying, I think you just have to email Estarra. You may have to prove you're capable of RPing it properly or something. Kaervas did it for d'Murani, and Forren for Shervalian, those are the ones I remember. It's a bit late for the Starleaf family though, heh.

Catarin got Inalai for writing part of the histories. I believe you need to 'deserve' important names or something

Oh well, I'll blame my grandfather for not trying it sooner.
Hmm, seeing as I'm the only one in my family who cares to try and turn the outline of our history into a book, would it be acceptable to put something like 'there is an unproven rumor that Banon was a member of the Strongleaf family'?

For players to carry on pre-established families (Nightshade, Ladantine, Inalai, Strongleaf, Treeheart), they need to submit a detail family history, including who what when where and why, from generation to generation, what if anything they did of note and where the family has been since its last known "position", so to speak (ie, when Glinshari and Ellindel healed the fae, in this instance).
To say such submissions tend to be long is a fair understatement!

Well, its a good thing I asked. Thanks for everyone's help! I'll now be writing the history of the Starleaf family from Banon to present, as Barrin has given me permission to do so (Barrin's the only memeber of Starleaf with founder status - he had a brother who comitted suicide). I'm not linking it back to Glinshari, at least not yet.
But, I do need more help with generation numbers...I'm not sure what the time gap between generations should be in a world where people can apparently live forever, and I also can't seem to find the length of time between the Taint Wars and the coming of Estarra.

You could probably get away with being related by marriage, not blood, to one of Glinshari's descendants, even at this late date.
