Hi!

I'm new to these boards and the game here. It's cool, but it lacks graphics

I'm just wondering, what's a good character race for a ninja?
Shiri2008-05-13 08:21:11
Heh. Welcome back. Illithoid are pretty good, as are aslaran, loboshigaru and krokani. Faeling might still be usable but I wouldn't risk that unless you're a changeling.

OMG, Where did the graphics go?

Anyway. If you go ninjakari, (my guild) those are pretty good choices. Just DON'T use kephera, merian, or elfen.

Cubie, do you still play, or just keep lurking the boards like the troll you are? wub.gif

If you play, you always stuck me as a monk or assassin

Anything with high dexterity and decent strength. Illithoid are the best choice with their native weapon bonus, followed by Krokani and Loboshigaru, then Aslaran. Furrikin and (high level)Human are decent choices. That's my opinion anyways. Faeling is just too squishy for my taste.

Does strength actually affect monks? I always read about dex being the key factor in their damage but I could have overlooked something. I also read that the stats on a monk's weapon do not matter much but people seem to be excited by the native weapon changes. Do you have any hard numbers that show the increase in wounding/damage/or speed from them (not the + to stats, the actual affect those higher stats have)?

Strength is a factor, yes. From what I can tell, dex is primary while str is secondary. Sorta reverse warriors. As for stats, they certainly matter. Mostly the speed. I noticed a change from 119 as an illithoid to 114 as a krokani.

I still prefer Krokani. I like the resistances.

Krokani is good. Monks deal wounding based on dexterity and damage based on strength with a multiplier to wounding. IE A dwarf hits harder than a faeling at 0 wounds, but a faeling can outpace his damage by providing more wounding for the multiplier by having far more dex. Krok is a good mix of str/dex.

Lurking. Here, I even have a troll certificate!

The second sentence was about me? Wrong - I never liked assassins and monks aren't my cup of tea either. If I played for fluff, I'd go warrior - they're the most fun. If I played for combat effectiveness, I'd go bard, seeing how powerful they are.

EDIT: I usually live under a bridge, like a real troll should, but I'm taking my break here while waiting for Tears of Polaris. Not that Lusternia is a bad game. But it bored me a bit.

Welcome back, first person I ever killed in PVP.

(to Orti, just in case someone misinterprets it)
