of the heads from these large monumental statues has plummeted and rolled into
this basin possibly from a deep upturning of this mountain. Elaborate detail has
been intrinsically preserved even within its tarnish on this magnificent scale
of merian proportions save for a decimated nose. All this pales in comparison to
the crystalline waters that encompass this depression, brimming with potent
energies ebbing against the monumental surface. It is from here the only light
source is originated, stretching across the deep cavernous walls, pillars, and
the now ruined constructions. A dragon turtle rests here, an air of majesty on
its features. Dysolis is here, shrouded. He wields a coral staff in his left
hand and a circular shield of the volcano in his right.

so apparently I had him down to less than half ego some time before the spar was over (although he got it back before the end of the duel), and I've rediscovered AB PSIONICS EGOSCAN. Sad thing is, of the three duels I just had against him, this one was the best spar I've had against him, even though I forgot to put my illusions back in.

Any suggestions? Besides the obvious turning on of illusions and using egoscan...

You seem to have stopped eating herbs altogether.

Use phantoms to help with the affliction stacking, and try to diagnose when you regain all your balances. Near the end, you were stuck with recklessness for a bit, which is why you died.

how often should I be diagnosing? Because Dysolis is also a telepathy user, I thought that diagnosing wasn't worth the eq loss, although as Thoros pointed out, that turned out to be a problem at the end when I didn't catch the recklessness

And yeah, there was ~30 second period I wasn't eating herbs. I'll try to find out what happened. Focusmind was working fine, though, which would probably help solve most telepathy afflictions?

Most, but not all. Deadening, afraid of the world, some phobias, are not cured by focus mind.

Paralysis too.

I'd suggest approaching TP combat differently. Don't use all your channels at once. Use sub/id together for afflictions and use mindblast/psychicvamp seperately. Super tends to open up a lot slower. He used Wounds at the start, you should have dispelled yourself of that as well as the phantom. And yes, diagnose more! Dysolis is easy once you figure out his pattern.

Make a flag that will be 1 every time you get hit by something that damages your health/mana/ego, and then at the prompt if you have health, mana ego and power at max, you have recklessness. Faster than diagnosing and you'll never die to recklessness again. Also, weave illusions that require herb cures, so he would waste herb balance, which is needed to cure your afflictions.
Take a look at Catarin's system, it handles telepathic afflictions beautifully, without the need to diagnose all the time (if that is the system I am thinking of, I'm pretty sure it's hers).

EDIT: hit with stupidity more, if your opponent has perfect curing that's the best way to slow him down.

1. Your afflictions are not in harmony.. if you are going for ego drain, then best to use a lot of recklessness/addiction/stupidty and/or try to use dominate debate.. its becomes easy once you know how to trick/time it..

2. Always try to use claws/phantoms/wounds first.. it could a) mess up healing make damage kills possible in that -- if they focus on curing ego, they could suddenly have so little health left.. i.e. in the range of staff damage kill.. c.) in addition, if they cure health once or twice, it will be a big help in the ego drain..

* the key is trying to make them sip health or mana sometimes.. (big hint here on how to setup telepathic attacks )

* although as to how to detect what they sip.. could be quite problematic.. but the fact that they did sip health/mana would be very advantageous to your ego-drain strategy..

3. have paralyis+peace ready when you are in pinch..

4. attack in channles of three and two.. like do stupidity/recklessness/vamp then wait for id/sub and do phobia/omni.. the afflictions are more powerful together.. it would be better to delay the attack a sec to wait for the channels to open than just attack using one easily cured affliction.. -- although you are always trying to use three channels here which i also do not recommend..

5. Dominate is a very powerful skill.. lots of things you can make someone do.. hint! hint!
