Well? Who? Thoughts?

Personally enjoyed it, was funny as hell for me. laugh.gif

It's awesome. Just make sure your disbelief is well and thoroughly suspended when you enter the theatre, as with all Indy movies.

Yeah. This one was.. Really out there. unsure.gif

And lowering a metal cage into molten lava and still retaining the cage (not having the chain melt) was more believable??
What about jumping from a plane with a life raft and hitting the snow safely while swooshing down the side of a mountain?
Or maybe drinking from the cup of Christ to test it, then healing your father with it.... Yet not becoming immortal like it said you would (well immortal in reality, not in the immortal "movie" sense... cuz that part worked smile.gif )

I am sure every single one of those movies belief suspension is required. Although when I saw the Temple of Doom at the theatre when my aunt took me... Yeah I was real little and shouldn't have gotten in, but I was accompanied. It sure was real to me then smile.gif

At that time though if I remember right it was a rated R movie. I think the Movie Rating thing thought the ripping a heart from someone's chest required that. But hell, lots of things that are PG-13 now would have been rated R back then.
Diamondais2008-05-25 03:17:10
Oh I agree, the others were pretty out there but this one. laugh.gif

Anycase, most of it I couldn't stop laughing. The rest of it I enjoyed, wasn't a part where I started thinking 'When is this going to end?'
Ildaudid2008-05-25 03:20:26
I figure I will wait to mid next week to see it. I don't wanna go during a busy time. I hate it when the theatre is packed and I can't put my feet on the seats in front of me. smile.gif
Shamarah2008-05-25 03:24:18
I think the most blatant attack on common sense was them falling down three 50-foot waterfalls in a row and just getting up unhurt. Other than that you could ignore most of it pretty easily because it was so awesome.

and back into the boat! they werent even scattered, just always right beside it.

but seriously i LOVED it! watched a marathon of the old ones the day before it came out. i'm not really trying to compare it to the old ones cuz no matter how hard they tried it would be nothing like the old ones you know? the 4th one was definantly not the same but on its own not compared to anything it was really good i thought. entertaining.

the only thing that annoyed me is the back and forth with the artifact. like they discover it, russians steal it, they run away, russians catch them, they run away, russians steal it and a jungle chase scene ensues! *shrug*

unsure.gif Hmm. I'm not sure about seeing this one. Its getting mixed review from my friends and I understand they went CGI crazy. To the point of making an animated prairie dog. Just because they could.

I'm more of a Memento-Batman Begins type of movie. Think I'd like it?
Shamarah2008-05-25 04:16:52
If you liked Raiders of the Lost Ark, you will like this movie. If you did not like Raiders of the Lost Ark, you will not like this movie.
Kaalak2008-05-25 04:17:50
Raiders was awesome. Decision made!

Is there a single person on the planet who didn't like Raiders of the Lost Ark? I mean, Temple of Doom I can understand.. cause George Lucas + Prequel = automatic crap, but Ark + Crusade were unarguably fan-damn-tastic.
Amarysse2008-05-25 04:36:19
I watched this tonight. Just got back, actually!

I had my reservations, but overall, I really, really enjoyed it. There aren't nearly enough adventure movies of this sort, and the cheesy bits (I thought) were well-suited to the genre and the time period. It was a bit more light-hearted than the others, but thoroughly entertaining. The worst part was being in the second row, because it was opening night here, and having to glance back and forth across the screen.

I was a bit disappointed that no more explanation was given for Henry, Sr. and Marcus's deaths, but the "cameo" by the Ark in the warehouse scuffle was delightful.

Yes, Roger Ebert said this quite well in his review of the movie... let me find it...

I can say that if you liked the other Indiana Jones movies, you will like this one, and that if you did not, there is no talking to you.

yeah, bugs creep me out to no end, so i was like cringing the whole time. pretty awesome when they drug that dude into the hole though!

i hate the girl villain i thought she was so cheesy

but then again i thought the leading ladies in all the other Indi flicks were annoying as well. Especially in temple of doom. *gag* just wanted her to die the entire time!

just watched last crusade tonight it was awesome! sean connery ftw

I hate bugs too, but I loved how they started making a pyramid just to get at the Russian woman. laugh.gif

My cousin had a fairly negative review of the movie, and he loved the first three. He said that if you wanted to see it, go see it, because it's not horrible, but it feels more like a B-lot sci-fi film than the others, Indy lost his MacGyver edge, and Kate Capshaw was an outright horrible actress. He said if you don't mind the cheese and can ignore the woman who never stops grinning, it wouldn't be bad.
Unknown2008-05-26 04:27:24
Ahhhhh, I still need to see this so much. I grew up on Indiana Jones. As a young child the words nazi instantly brought the image of melting faces into my head. I also really want that coat hanger Thot had.
Unknown2008-05-27 00:22:27
I liked it a fair bit, though I must say I agree that the base plot line seemed too B-lot sci-fi for my tastes.

There was only one snake in this movie (or only one that I remember), but they made very good use of it. smile.gif

And the brief appearance that the arc had made me grin.
