It's a shame the father's death wasn't as painful as his toddler's.

EDIT: WARNING: Pretty disturbing link, referenced in thread.

From the article, doesn't seem to even be the man's child. Just a child he thought was possessed (gogo religious pshychos.)

Religious fanatics destroy religion. It infuriates me that people think something like this is "for the best" or necessary. There is no excuse, none whatsoever, for beating a child to a bloody pulp, I don't give a damn what your "religion" states.

When I read this last night, I cried, and almost threw up.

No one has the right to do anything like that to a child.

No one.
Jigan2008-06-16 21:12:31
At least they killed him. If he was arrested, he'd probably be hit for insanity or sommat. Though, the articles say there were people trying to get him off the child. Why couldn't they subdue him? If I saw a child being beaten to a pulp like that, I would have found something hard enough to at least dazed him or removed him from the picture.

Why do you post :censor: like this stangmar.

In the future, keep it to yourself.

Go away, keep to yourself.

Unfortunate things like this happen, and I agree with Jigan... How could people not stop him, don't push him, start punching him in the face... Tackle him, if he does start attacking you that's better than him attacking the child more.

Well seriously I dont browse the lusternia forums to hear about random incidents of human stupidity and violence. This isn't CNN. There is nothing to talk about, its just a horrible tragedy. The people watching him do it were acting stupid. Its just irritating and depressing and doesn't need to be posted in a text mud forum. That is all.
Kharaen2008-06-16 23:39:17
It's human nature. People will react more to someone yelling 'Fire!' than 'Rape!', and this is a similar incident. If it doesn't directly affect a person, the people, as a mob, won't do anything. This is a proven fact.

It's not right, and just two people could of stopped it (since all the man was using was his fists and feet). A good crack of a baseball bat to the skull would of solved it right quick.
Ardmore2008-06-17 01:25:25
Oh damn I left my baseball bat at home? Did you bring yours? No? Damn... Okay, nothing we can do now but watch...

Then don't visit the "Life Outside of Lusternia" section of the forum.

Not really fair to call him a religious fanatic without knowing his mental state. Someone who doesn't even believe in God can suddenly start spouting some weird stuff when they go into a psychotic state. I can't say I know, I am guessing that he was very psychotic at the time as he didn't seem to realize he was doing something wrong. Even when the police officer threatened to kill him, he was very focused on the "possessed boy". He might have really thought the child was demon possessed. In his mind he may have seen and heard demons. I'm not making excuses or defending psychotics who end up hurting people but to call someone who may be in a psychotic state of mind who spouts religious subjects a religious fanatic is misleading.

I have to echo Ialie. I cannot think of a single religion that would condone this. Not in 2008.
Stangmar2008-06-17 14:09:18
Hell, I'm sure 2 people could have found some sort of weapons in their car. At any given time there is SOMETHING in the trunk of my car that can be used as a blunt weapon, be it a tire iron, a baseball bat, or a shovel.

Christianity does not condone blowing up government buildings, murdering abortion doctors, or anti-semitsm. Yet all of these are performed by people who have "sound" religious proof that what they are doing is right. Plenty of things are done in the name of religion that the religion is mortified by.
