I was pondering the notion of making Simimi a warrior. I love my warrior alt to pieces, and it makes more sense to make her a warrior rather than power up an alt. Here is the current relevant information.
How much would the change hurt me? Would I be able to make it worth it with what I have now? This is a theoretical (just for my curiosity) thing. I know being a warrior doesn't fit Simimi's roleplay so much, but humour me. How far could I get with this setup? Trans a spec? Get some master gear? What do you all thing, would it be worth it? Or would I be better off doing something different as a Tahtetso? (I know Acrobatics >>>> Psychomet... yea yea)

Forget tailoring, transfer those lessons over to Forging, spend roughly 80cr transing that again if you want fullplate, or go Herbs for the increased herb balance and more puffs. Forget all your guild skills, transfer each of them into the appropriate skill pool, spend nearly 300cr Transing them all. Then spend your remaining cr trying Trans Magic and/or buy an/multiple artifact/s for your weapon/s, I suppose. Or a health rune.
You could do it. And really, it all comes down to what you want. Do you want to be a warrior or just switch to Acrobatics? And personally, after having tried the monk class ( ), I prefer warrior hands down because it's actually fun to have an infinite number of combat strategies instead of preplanned combat with an EZ-button.
*Edit*: Oh yeah, after you do your guild skills, remember to Trans Combat first. It really helps with the whole not missing thing, and it gives you more maneuver slots.

Monks are being changed Bashara, they wont work the same.

Unless they change the preplanned combat part, warrior is hands down better in my honest opinion. As for the EZ-button, LOLSTUN still sucks.

I'm not leaving. I was considering transferring those credits to my alt so it can be all awesome with trans axelord and night but... it seems it would be better just to use them in a different way, like for Simimi, even though she gets much less play time than my alt at the moment. It is odd. I never really gave monk-dom a chance. For some reason I am just unhappy with it, even though I have only bashed about 2 levels with it. I think I would like it more with acrobatics, but I like the idea of oh psychometabolism so much. I am curious as to see what they do with monks though, and the Tahtetso roleplay is wonderful.
So if I stayed monk, what do you suggest? Absorb rune? Save up for a Changeling Cameo? Warrior just seems so... permanent. You can rune your weapon to last forever (and it makes a difference, rune-ing a tahto is a waste as far as I can see). Can they rune their masterplate also, to last forever? I just like the idea of being able to work and invest in a character who can progress in measurable power. Not to mention axes. Yay axes.

Absorb rune would up your survivability a lot. Cameo is kinda worthless. There's only one good race for a Tahtetso monk: male kephera. Okay, maybe Aslaran, but still.
Fullplate is permanent in the first place.

A plating of pale silver covers the steel of this suit of armour. It is
simple and functional in design, constructed of large metal plates set
into a mesh of intricate chainmail, of which there are two layers,
designed to absorb the impact of even the most deadly blow. The only
decoration is a delicate pattern of interlocking diamonds, engraved in
thin lines of dark iron, which contrasts with the lighter tone of the
silver plate.
It weighs about 180 pounds.
It bears the distinctive mark of Bashara.

Runing a weapon makes it undecaying, yes. And yes, yay axes

Cameo's are fun. And when I'm through, they'll have their own armour and helm It's 5 daggers for 1 cameo right? If you see yourself reincarnating more then 5 times in your characters entire lifetime, then the cameo is worth it. I personally change race almost every month
RoA is mostly useful when fighting groups of stuff. I rarely see it fire, since I'm a squishy bard and can't take one mob, let alone a group :/

Jasato2008-06-25 18:18:13
I'd recently taken Jasato from Celestine to Pally, only spent about 300 or 350cr, possibily even 400ct, to do it. Course, I'm not flashy like everyone else, but I did retrans the guild skills plus take Jewelry to Forging. I spent the leftover amounts to Trans Environment.
I took Jasato Pureblade, but the specialization is entirely up to you. I think I lost only up to 40% of the lessons I transfered from Pools (I.E. from Mysticism and Willpower to Spirit, then Spirit to Body)

Kata/Tahtetso -> Knighthood/spec = 20% loss for forgetting, roughly 1372 lessons retained, 343 lessons needed to re-Trans, roughly 54-55 cr.
Harmony -> Athletics = 20% loss for forgetting, 30% loss for transferring to the Parent pool, 0% loss for transferring from Communion to Body. Since I don't know how far you are into Harmony, I'm going to just say 0%. To get to Virt, you need 912 lessons, so -50% is 456 lessons retained, which means you need 1259 to Trans, which translates to roughly 210 cr.
Psionics -> Totems = 20% loss for forgetting, 20% loss for changing from Intellect to Arcana. You need 1292 lessons to get to Fabled, which means you'd be at around 775 lessons retained and need 940-ish lessons to get to Trans, which translates roughly into 157cr.
Total Cr to trans guild skills: 420-424, rough estimate.

Combat increases your chance to hit with physical attacks, same as it helps non-warriors dodge your attacks. Additionally, it increases the number of maneuver slots you have.

Wow Bashara, thanks so much for the quick maths! I owe you a hug!
By the by, can Kephera still where Splendour Robes/Great Robes, or was that fixed?
No, I do not see me changing race, even though I complain about Dracnari, it is who Simimi is. The cameo would let me cheat and always go back to it for comfort. I also hold out hope for Gaudiguch at some point, that, or more volcano areas.

I suppose the female kephera make horrid monks, right? I bet they make nice mages though...
