I don't need to know how the quest is done (which I can't do at this point anyway), but I'd like to have some details for a project I'm working on. You summon the Gingerbread Man or Muffin Man (I think...) and it goes on a killing rampage (specifically, rampaging on you.)

Oh and another random question... are fae immortal, ie they can live to an indefinite number of years?

It's not stated anywhere if they can or can't but I'd bet money that they can.

Completing the quest for either side destroys all the mobiles of the other side. If you finish the pastry side, you'll create a doughboy monstrosity that eats all the candy and is also aggressive and WAY too powerful. I think it's Supernal level of power, though I never did check to closely.

Doughboy is really powerful yes, though I have seen him killed solo. I forget who, it was near when Aetherspace first came out.

But yes completing the Pastry side releases Doughboy on a rampage. Afterward the Muffinman regrets the slaughter I believe. I'm not sure about the Candy side at all. Which is dumb considering I've spent RL days on Crum.

The doughboy is about as tough as a Manifestation or a touch stronger. Very do-able solo.

In fact I think even mortals can if they've passed through the portal of fate, age is something that happens less often than it doesn't.

Well, up until the Fates decide to "snip" (which, though they never do outside of SUICIDE, is still supposed to be there as a "You are still 'mortal'" limiter).

Don't they mostly just do that when you get killed though? Not at random?

(And, yes, but the Fates do seem to have some undue influence where the Divine are concerned, as well as being able to... tweak things)

It's the same thing. If they want you dead, they'll pull a final destination style inescapable death and then refuse to return you to life. If that doesn't work, they'll have a soulless get loose and eat you.

Do they ever actually do that though? Most mortals don't seem to die of natural causes. Even Ellindel never had an old age thing, she just wandered off someday (according to Maeve and Miakoda.) She might still be alive for all we know.

They probably kill off a few people in accidents every once in a while.
