With the new houses and banner houses, I think we should have the heraldry system from Achaea.

Mine from Achaea : "Argent, a cat rampant contourny Sable and a cat sejeant Tenne within an orle azure."
Esano2008-07-02 10:57:47

So, silver, with a black cat rearing and facing right and another brownish cat sitting within a blue shield-like thing?
Caffrey2008-07-02 11:04:16
yeah that's the one smile.gif Tenne is the closest to orange I could find.

How about we have it, without the weird language, that to me was the only thing I really really loathed about it, I looked at it for half an hour just trying to understand it. Would it actually kill people to make it plain and simple, so like 99% of the people who haven't studied heraldry know whats going on?
Caffrey2008-07-02 11:25:46
Well I see what you mean, although I have to say I actually enjoyed researching it. But I think that was the purpose of the Heralds, you pay 200,000 gold to be an official herald who is supposed to know these things and can design them for you. I designed my own one then got a Herald to check and make it for me.
Shiri2008-07-02 11:31:23
I guess...families could just create their own (non-ancient, French and annoying to read) family designs though.
Unknown2008-07-02 11:32:52
Would be cool, as a Banner house to create a seal, which the family leaders can affix to letters/scrolls/ stuff to make them look cool, then as Great House, get a proper coat of arms and such.
Ashai2008-07-02 12:24:35
The Magnagoran houses already have heraldry/family coats of arms. D'Murani's is a kestrel on a black and orange shield of some sort, I'm pretty sure.

I do not know a thing about the Heraldry system in Achaea but if this was added to Lusternia it seems the best way to do it would be to give it to banner and great houses as another incentive for them. Maybe the house head has to grant permission for a member to use it so the black sheep member isn't stamping all of his things with the family coat-of-arms.
Everiine2008-07-03 00:49:46
I'd like to see this in some other forms too. For example, in the Chieftain's Circle (a room in the Serenguard Lodge), the description has the room filled with the emblems of past chieftains. Maybe guilds could have their own emblems as well?

Ohh shush, I know! But I haven't got any time to play at the moment sad.gif I shall try my best to update the map and get Planeswalker back in the next couple of weeks, but that depends entirely on how quickly I finish my assignments.

Hmmm, Caffrey's - A map rampant and a inkpot spilt within a giant letter C azure.

Why did a sudden visual of Arix stamping beer mugs with a coat of arms come to mind? shocked.gif

Haha, I already designed the Diodorus emblem, and am designing things it's put on already! Now I just need 2000k for a Tailoring Cartel and Bookbindng cartel!
Aramel2008-07-18 09:23:37
I like the idea, but we have custom cartel designs already. Maybe make it so that tailors can sew banners? Y'know, for the bannerhouses and great houses. Make them able to be wielded, so that you'd see in the room look:

Aramel is here. She is wielding a banner bearing a phoenix rising in her left hand.

Or some such thing.

*wants to design banners now*

Heraldry was possibly the worst thing to happen to Achaea... you had people running around with purple upside down fish behind prison bars that were bright pink, finished off with a nice, bold lime green in the back.
Unknown2008-07-21 22:21:26
Lusternia isn't achaea. We actually roleplay(I hope)
Amarysse2008-07-21 22:27:17
Heraldry was the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
Autoclass was the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
The issue system was the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
Dragons were the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
PK cause was the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
The Marks were the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
Ships were the worst thing to happen to Achaea.
Sartan splitting into Shaitan/Apollyon was the worst thing to happen to Achaea.

The list goes on. And on. And on.

I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that all of these are correct.

Can we just agree that nothing good ever happened in Achaea?
