I just thought of a addition to the current trades we have. Generally possessing two trades would be considered broken to have because that would mean twice the revenue to be obtained. What if we could dual wield two trades by reducing the effectiveness when selecting a second. For instance having one skill set capped at fabled or mythical so you can't dual wield two skillsets with both good personal items like magic tome or splendours. Let's face it there's really good trades out there and I want to use more than one and I am sure that I'm not the only one who has thought about this.

You're quite right. It's been posted about a few times, but nothing's really come of it so far.

I want a new highmagic only trade first.
Dysolis2008-06-30 23:56:11
highmagic trade? only if it works with the other in turn for low magic!
Jigan2008-07-01 00:01:13
If I understand what you said....Poisons and Herbs are low magic.

This is just really silly. This is why there are different people with different, unique skills. That's how we have a market: you trade with other people because you can't make everything yourself. It seems really sad to have to explain this, and no, it wouldn't mean 'double the revenue'. If you're really concerned about revenue, there are a lot more realistic things to do.

The only reason this could possibly even be worth time is for the skills in trades which give special buffs (philosopher's stone, crown of the magi, magic tome, etc.), but I'm pretty sure that it's meant like that.

We'd be like that other place that strangely gave everyone the ability to make concoctions if they didn't go undead themselves!

That's why Lusternia's unique trade system is so balanced (with the exception of our poor forgers/poisonists whose market is pretty limited). We're forced to work with one another in some capacity. A trade helps to define a character more this way.
Dysolis2008-07-01 02:47:31
so why not more the merrier? Wouldn't that just mean more options to fit your own character? For example, I am a bookbinder that creates books and does intensive research. With some of that research he could study cooking which also uses books and can read recipes better. That's only one idea however there could be more combinations to go along with it. If the cap was a bad idea then perhaps there could be another way to restrict them.

Yes we are forced to work with each other. That can be the problem at time when there is no other around to be there to fulfill someone's needs, like for instance not enough herbilists. Or not enough cosmic enchanters for the specific abilites.

At first I thought it was awesome, and then it came to me.

Trans Alchemist/Herbalist

That's one thing I'll never wanna see

heh, glad I'm not the only one who thought of that.

A similar one for the citygoers would be trans Jeweler/Enchanter, although it wouldn't be as bad.
Aison2008-07-01 19:17:29
Wouldn't mind being able to be an enchanter and artisan. At least then I'd make some profit.

Trade you, I don't even really know what to charge for labour. I just say, "Tips work". Got tipped 10k once for a desk/chair combo, but then, I made a rocker for one person, and a chest/rug for another, and didn't get squat.

Personally, think the city should pay the cartel submission fees each yeah PLUS a stipend.
Jigan2008-07-01 22:07:40
Artisan payment. I only asked for a donation. I did good work and was always happy to help people pick out stuff. I got 10k once for a keg, nothing for a bed. It evens out.

I am only an artisan because I have unique designs in my cartel that I don't trust other people with... seriously
Ardmore2008-07-02 02:14:20
Interesting.
You know this is only a problem because people don't buy credits, right?
If people bought credits there would be no problems with the game, and anything someone imagines gets magically put in the game.
Very interesting.
Buy more credits.

Edit: Ignore above... I don't like the idea though, trades are fine as they are imo.
