Where might I find some in-depth information on old Ackleberry, apart from help files? I'm mainly looking for things that might help formulate backgrounds and flavor for guilds and the like, since I'm currently working on ideas for Ackleberry as a commune with some slightly different guilds. They will probably come to naught, but it will be a good writing exercise for me, if nothing else.

The histories and Tolborolla?

Their great spirit says to not trust moon. So Seren

All I can find in the histories is mention of their existence, and the fact that they have a tree (no mention what kind) plus Brother Bear and Mother Lake. That's about it.

That's about all there is.

I believe the tree is honeysap? I know if you do the histories collegium quest for Seren you'll find it, one of the questions is what are the names of the three trees or something.
Rika2008-07-04 21:07:02
I'm pretty sure the Great Tree in Ackleberry was the Golden Honeysap.

Come up with some plausibe stuff, make sure it doesn't contradict what is already canon, and maybe the Divine will say "Yeah, that's it, so and so got it right!"
Gwylifar2008-07-05 14:25:11
But don't count on it. It's just as likely, in fact a jillion times more likely, that they already have ideas and whatever ideas you make up won't fit them and thus won't ever get looked at.

That's totally fine with me.

How Lake will work versus Aquamancy would be interesting..
Unknown2008-07-16 23:18:04
The way I see it, Aquamancy would overpower lake in most cases, as Lake would be moving in harmony with the waters, while aquamancy is more bending it to your will(Though still in a very harmonious way!)

As I see it, Aquamancy focuses on the 'physical' aspect of water, while Lake is more on the 'spiritual' side of it. So it's much more evened out, like a conflict between mind/heart. smile.gif

Of course, Lake is the Wiccan spec, so you'd be looking at comparisons with Night or Moon.
Some kind of Honey-based choke effect? Cauldrons filled with delicious syrup?

Don't forget the dance aspect. River... Dance... River... Dance... hmmm.

And lo' did Brother Bear search for Cousin Rabbit out of desire for the Honeysap. The bear doth enter the hole, and yet his Rump doth get stucketch seeking the Honeysap of the Cousin Rabbit.

That is mildly dirty.

The more I found out about Ackleberry, the more I regretted the thought of creating -anything- for it.

But it's ok, because I'm using the guild ideas I had for an upcoming D&D game. (3.5; don't give me any of that 4.0 stuff.)

Darn, he is on to us. At least no one found out yet that the guild tutor will be called Michael Flatley.
