Now there's a skill in Discernment (?) that you can do a list of magic items. Great for Enchanters and everybody else really.
Now it would be nice for chefs to be able to:
FOODLIST
This will allow you to check a list of food in your inv. It will also tell you how many months left and what particular effect (e.g. infuse with love or constitution) and if skilled in cooking, can see if it's poisoned just from the list.

There's also a clotheslist already implemented.

DECAYLIST would be nice too. (would work on anything 10months or less.)

JEWELRYLIST... so I know what needs reenchanting.

Along the lines of the food list, it would be nice to be able to PROBE FOOD as well. Commodities are categorised, so are herbs, why aren't food, clothing etc be categorised as well?
More lists...
WLIST - weapon's list
ALIST - armour/shield list
Bottlelist - though this could come under foodlist too.
SporesList - :-D kidding

Maybe enhance the clotheslist for tailors to show cost of repair or proofs?

Food doesn't really need it. Most of it decays about the same time, as it's mass produced most of the time.
Being able to taste food and see it's effect is a good ability for cooks to have only, as it can't be looked at to see if it's infused.
However, bottlelist I would love.

That would be your MagicList....it shows you the id, item, enchantment, number of charges left and number of months left (til decay)
Zalandrus2008-07-31 15:17:34
I think bottlelist would be a list for too specific an item...although adding bottles to potionlist would be cool (doesn't it already reveal vials that hold special things that aren't elixirs/salves/poisons?)
Artisans don't get much love with lists

Sure we do. For a list of all the useful things you can make for yourself, type PIPELIST...

Constitution and now Speed is probe-able by anybody.
It's just a bugger when you DO mass produce foods and you're checking what's preserved and what's not and what's infused and what's not and you have 400 dishes in your inv...

Ah, right! So, to continue the theme of lists-for-useful-person-items, let's add INSTRUMENTLIST, and TENTLIST, and BOXLIST, and BASKETLIST, and...oh wait...that's all the artisan items that are of personal use...(and the use of boxes? prettiness; tents and baskets have some practical use, but demand for them is low)

Nope, only cooks. When I probe a constitution-enhanced platter I see only the normal description. E.g.:
QUOTE
A small wooden plate has been piled high with lettuce and spinach leaves
then covered with diced tomatoes and hard-boiled eggs and slices of
cucumber, carrot and green pepper. A small dish of vinaigrette sits on
the edge of the plate, ready to be poured over the salad.
It has 25 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 1 pounds and 14 ounce(s).
It bears the distinctive mark of Brylle Silverleaf, Priestess of the Moon.

The extra line cooks see that talks about the nutritive value and infusions is not visible to the rest of us.

Ooer... I didn't know that.
When I probe, you can see it.
When I taste, you can see poisons and nutritional value.
