Currently, it is possible for a small number of Demigods/Ascendants that have allied with eachother to claim all the Domoths and keep them by absolving anyone else that tries to take them, generally at the behest of the governing body of their city/commune. This gives the org or pair of orgs that these two Demigods/Ascendants are in a chokehold on the Domoths, giving them more power and, resultingly, more Ascendants. I propose the following changes:
1. Scrap the opposing Domoth system. Allow any Demigod or Ascendant to take any combination of Domoths. Limits on the number of Domoths per person still apply.
2. Allow any Domoth to absolve any other Domoth.
3. Make absolving a Domoth also absolve the Domoth being used to absolve.
These changes would mean that a policy of always absolving any Domoth that has been taken by an enemy a poor one. Instead, the city/commune government has to decide between allowing the enemy to have a Domoth or taking the risk that the enemy will grab an additional Domoth when they absolve in an attempt to take in back.
Example: Org A has 2 Domoths, Org B has 6, Org C has 1 and Org D has 0. Org A uses one of it's Domoths to absolve one of Org B's. Fighting insues. Org A gets 1 Domoth, leaving them with 0 net gain/loss. Org C gets the other, bringing them up to 2. Org B does not like this and uses one of remaining Domoths to absolve one of Org A's. Org B looses one to A and one to D, bringing it down to a total 4 and decides to stop while they are still ahead.

This idea is silly. Sure, remove the opposing Domoths requirement leaving us with a Domoth perhaps. We claim said Domoth taking the rod. Another person with a Crown of any sort absolves our domoth and we're now back to square one and they just have to reclaim their crown and we have nothing. Perhaps experience things before you make assumptions and propose solutions to problems. This would not help the situation in any way and make those on bottom stay on bottom much like the current setup.

Clearly you should have been more direct:
Celenwilde has a chokehold on the Domoths, despite not having the ability to Choke. Magnadoring wails for a change on a system that is (currently) against them, while Celenwilde screams for a change because the current setup of the Tainted Broadcasting Center is (currently) against them (Celenwilde).
Hurr hurr.

Heh. The effects from the domoth imbalance are more major though (although then again everyone has a chance to benefit from it in theory, unlike the centre.)
But I don't see this working out well, I see that making it a huge PITA.

I believe it is because in both cases there is a reason why one side can not do it when the other can (imbalanced in rp verses imbalanced in mechanics) Mag wants to keep the one imbalanced in their favour but change the other. People outside mag seem to think both should change.

Domoths aren't actually imbalanced mechanically in any way towards Serenwilde, they're imbalanced to whoever controls the thrones at the time, and even then it's still possible to overcome this. Conversely nothing can be done about the Globglob quest.

Oh I didn't mean imbalanced to an org. They are imbalanced in their own ways but only one is recognised as such by most

I'm Mag and I'm quite willing to see both changed.

We all know all people who play bad guys also play bad guys in real life, and have no self-perspective or inherent sense of fairness in regards to anything that is Other. You, sir, are a flagrant, manipulative liar!

I coulda sworn I noted that when I said mag I only meant the people who were against changing it hrm... or was that elsewhere

nah, there just people who want to be able to do anything they like. Where people in the "good" orgs happy to play with restrictions

Can you think of a better definition for the term 'bad guy'?

true but normally bad guys are bound by something, secrecy being a primary one, small numbers is another. Maybe the demon lords should start reigning them in or something

Perhaps I should have been more clear; A person with a crown absolving a person with a rod would (under this system) completely remove all control over both of the involved Domoth untill someone makes a claim again.
Edit: Also, I agree that Celest/Glom/Seren should be able to make use of the TBC. They should talk to their patrons about finding a way to detaint it for a while and finding an aetherbroadcaster that is willing to make pro Seren, pro Glom or pro Celest announcements. RP should be changed ingame!

I would like to see absolving turn into a contest. Something like..
You can start the absolve process at any time, when you do so you have 1 RL hour. In this RL hour you are trying to kill/influence/gain power/whatever as much as possible, the exact task would depend on the domoth (so death would be killing mobs for example). One your hour is up your score is made public. The holder of the domoth then has 1 RL day to counter your absolve. If they do not, the domoth resets (they loss all levels). If they do then they must do the same 1 hour challenge as you and beat your score. If they beat your score the absolve fails. If they do not, then the domoth is absolved.
Perhaps to make it even more interesting the avenger would ignore anyone working on a challenge. They could call in as much outside help as they wished, but only their kills/power/influencing/whatever would count for the score.
The key in my mind is allowing some kind of challenge that does not penalize either the challenger or defender for what time they play at. There needs to be some kind of asynchronous challenge mechanic.
