In this thread, place kind-of realistic artifacts which are nevertheless overpowered. No insta-kill-over-range or anything like that - be creative. After looking at some of the artifact auctions on other IREs I started to go "Hmm, imagine if we could buy this..."
Clearly, these are not meant to be implemented.

Hand of (the) Earth/Water/Hart/Crow
When this artifact is activated, it will immediately taint/flood/forest/wyrd the room. If the room is part of a demesne, the demesne will be utterly broken, and all rooms that composed the demesne will also be tainted/flooded/etc. at a cost of 5 power.
If the user is a mage/druid, they may expend a further 5 power in order to meld the entire area thus tainted/flooded/etc.
Earmuffs, a.k.a. Bard's Demise
This artifact gives permanent truehearing and deafness to the wearer. It may not be stripped in any way.
Orb of the Uncertain
This orb is intended for those people who are never sure of their current class. It can store one set of full class skills, which will be preserved should the owner change class. If the owner switches back, their skills are immediately restored to the stored values. It also stores tertiary skills in the same manner, storing them if they are forgotten, restoring them if they are chosen again.
It may only be activated once per Lusternian month.

Imperian lets you do this by default now. If you learn to fabled in your class skills you can switch to a different one and learn it, then switch back.

I would buy this.
Even if they sold for 3000cr, I'd probably have saved money on class changes by buying one. I would absolutely adore this, or even better, the Imperian profession system. Let's see, I've been Moondancer (back and forth between Hexes and Healing about three times), Hartstone (Runes twice, Dreamweaving twice, Ecology), and now a Spiritsinger. It adds up quick.

Rune of Greater Evasion

The Fate's Pendant

If this was changed to anyone in the room and once every IG month, it would be viable...

I know, but this one has less restrictions. That one you still have Circles (which don't exist here anyway, apart from power restrictions) and you have to relearn the skills (faster, no lesson cost, but still time-consuming). Plus you can do this with tertiaries, and you don't need to either a) get a high guildrank, or learn your skills evenly across the board.

Broach of Amnesty
Go ahead and kill whatever you want wherever you want with this broach, because everyone already forgives you for what you did.
Rod of the Drama Queen
Once an RL Day you may dub someone a Drama Queen. By doing so, you prevent them from emotion and using says with emoticons. To use, DUB (person) DRAMA QUEEN.
Can of Harden Up, Princess
You may drink this once a RL Day. Allows you to instakill someone who's on your enemy list by noobie kicking or noobie punching them. Works only once a day.
Fain's Pink Panties
By wearing these, you will heal an affliction every second, and if your afflictions are healed, you will regenerate health. And you will feel awkward. Highly awkward.

Regarding the profession system business:
I would adore Lusternian admins if this was implemented here. The division could be based on organizations. Hell, I would like it even if it was just implemented for tertiary skills (so a Shadowdancer could transcend Hexes, Healing, and Astrology, and switch between them as needed with a minor time cost but 0 actual lesson cost.)

Can you imagine how much money they'd make from Geb once he realized he could transcend Stag, Moon, Tracking, Bonecrusher, Blademaster, Pureblade, and Axelord... and then runed up a set of weapons for each style?
