I was just thinking and watching combat rankings and was wondering if it would be a possibility to offer some sort of a prize for the reigning champion of combat rankings? Of course it wouldn't be anything that would overly effect combat, maybe the Shield of Klangratch or something that might offer a bit of protection, or something wearable.

Also I was wondering if it would be possible to make a Combat Ranking system for debating, could have duels, and FFA battles but with debating. The winner of this system could recieve something that boosts their influencing effectiveness.

Anyways, just ideas.

If you wanted to give the combat rankings -any- significance at all you'd have to completely change the system.

You get a honour line for winning. For most people that's reason enough, plus what Shiri said above.

Plus you get the people who get first and then don't want to fight anyone anymore and you can't get a ranked spar from most people in general to even work your way up. Combat Rankings are stupid in my opinion.

This wouldn't be practical.
