Skill name: FirstAid
Settings option: FIRSTAID
Syntax: ADMINISTER
Effect: Consumes appropriate balance of both the administering person and the receiver (i.e. takes both peoples' herb balance if an herb is used, healing if heal potion is used, etc). Costs the user 2s or balance. Basically allows you to feed them something they need to recover from an affliction, but since both people lose curative balance, you can't lolcureheal in the middle of combat since ADMINISTER will consume your target's healing balances.
This would be especially good for helping stuck novices, by allowing you to cure them out of a nasty spot without putting your precious vials at risk. It'd also provide what I think is nifty RP by letting people be "combat medics" and help people who for whatever reason misplaced their curatives and need a quick fix to get home and buy more.
(sorry, this was one of my random showertime ideas )

Interesting... however...

Dr. Kevorkian?
But, yeah, I like it, especially the poison idea.
Edit: Healers are useless, Myrkr.
Tervic2008-08-28 00:56:37
The idea is to have something different from healing that still lets poor warriors like me feel useful when someone is sick. I'm not trying to make a healing clone, since healing is actually useful in combat, but instead making something that'll be useful outside of combat and provide opportunities for people to do cool things.

Couldn't this be used to get out of some locks though?

How?

I'd like this only if it worked on people under level 30 or so. Otherwise I feel like it would have undesirable combat effects.

"Here have your crotamine injection."
"My wha-"
Taking a needle in her hand, Casilu draws the needle full of liquid from a vial. She quickly injects it in his arm.
Acrune's eyes slowly close, as if drifting off to sleep, but strangely even more peaceful.
Acrune has euthenized by Sibuna Casilu Talnara, Hero of the Bards.

I'd have to approve it first

You'd have it up, and I'd just euthanize people. Until they changed my name to Sibuna Casilu Talnara, Doctor of Death.
Then, only novices would trust me and BAM! euthanized!

Really, you could probably just give me poisoned food and I'd eat it if it looks delicious. You don't need mechanics to kill me off sneakily

I've done that before. Teriyaki Wakabi okay?

Sounds good, but maybe a mutual ally check?
Just as someone might leave it on and another could feed them something undesirable.
As to healing, you can keep that if you can guarantee there will be at least one healer available 24/7 to drop anything to run off and heal a member of any organisation and location then sure

I dunno, I'd like to think that the price for using it (both yours and your target's curative balance, plus your own bal/eq) would be enough to dissuade it from being used in combat. Heck, raise the bal/eq loss to 4 seconds, unmodifiable, as you rummage for your crap, check them for a blocked airway, and tilt their jaw into the proper position. Also, I don't want it to -only- work on under lvl30 people 'cause that ruins my whole original thought. And it's nowhere close to the Healing skill 'cause you can't diagnose them >_>
Mutual ally check might be good.

This could go into Environment and the skill might actually be useful.
(No offense.)

I support the idea of this only being usable on people under level 30. By level 30, you should at least be able to find your way to HELP CURELIST, and have at least one of everything on there.
At least, you should if you're in a position where you'll get afflicted.

I'm on the fence with this idea (environment skill?). Though the RP is interesting, I'm not sure there is a huge need for it. Can't you just give newbies an herb/potion and ask them to eat/drink it? For emergencies, our guides are pretty awesome at helping newbies.

There isn't really a need for it, it's just another of my random shower ideas I just wanted a way to roleplay actively assisting someone get out of a bad spot rather than just passively tossing them something and saying "here, eat".
