Simple enough really. Do indulge me, in feeding my curiosity.

Thanks.

I had to tick nearly all of the second because yes... I've transed nearly all tradeskills
Arix2008-08-31 03:25:34
The first needs to be multiple choice, as some have had multiple tradeskills

There's a reason the first question isn't multiple choice.

Because I didn't know one character could have multiple tradeskills. Really?
Esano2008-08-31 03:29:38
He said "have had". I guess you only want current tradeskills?
Arix2008-08-31 03:34:22
I meant people sometimes switch skills. For example, a lot of people who try bookbinding usually switch to skills that actually make money

Oh, I see. Well, that would be needlessly complicated. The real purpose of the survey is to look at how popular each tradeskill is, to see what's overpopulated and to see where there are gaps in the market. Although, obviously, it doesn't take into account things like activity, or skill level. It's not really very good, but it will suffice.

Generally, Cooking and Poisons are the rarely-taken tradeskills. Both of them can make a considerable amount of gold, but Cooking requires a shop and Poisons requires a fair bit of patience (and not the afk-patience of Forging or Herbs).

Cooking? A shop? No, no, no...

What is truly needed is a wandering cake-seller, pedling his wares from a large tray. A muffin-man, in fact.

You've never been to candyland or you wouldn't be saying that
Arix2008-08-31 05:49:59
We have a wandering booze seller. You stay the hell away from that niche
Xavius2008-08-31 05:59:24
Cooking stopped being profitable when level 80 became easily obtainable.

Level 80 is easily attainable? whatthe.gif

S... sell the booze? I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you're saying...

Considering that with a 20-30k investment, I easily earn 100k in cooking, without alcohol added into the equation, I have no clue why level 80 -might- trouble cooks with shops. Considering that they also rely on infused platters, and many desire them for tea parties or what-ever they want it for?

Did I mention you also can earn between 0-20k for herofetes, and if you are smart, only pay 500-2k gold in comms, depending on where and who you hold the herofete for?

Double the prices if you lack a spatula. That's it. If you have a shop, and are a cook, and know what the hell you are doing, you will rake gold in hand over fist. If you lack a shop, you can still earn gold, but have to actively cook and plan. If you lack the knowledge and wisdom of what to do, you're screwed with any tradeskill you choose, even herbs.

Edit: I've been nearly every tradeskill, minus alchemy, poisons, and enchantments.

The trouble is that people like you (no offense) with spatulas, trans cooking and a shop suck up all the cooking business in an entire city. You only need one shop. Trae was Celest's cook (you don't even see the guy playing the game much nowadays, if ever) and earned so much cash he just runs his own manse shop now.
Arin2008-08-31 09:20:15
I have slept with my spatula. It's awesome...

But I don't cook for profit. I just love designing foods that's got so much innuendo.
Arix2008-08-31 09:48:19
Salami tahto?
Unknown2008-08-31 13:04:32
Poisons on my main, alchemy on my longest running alt.
