I've been using Nexus since I started playing , but as I've began to get more involved in PvP I've heard a lot more talk about using systems to stay ahead.

I'm new to the idea of mudclients, so I was wondering where the collective forum consciousness (and by that I don't just mean Shiri) thought would be a good place to start. Those which already have rudimentary (or in-depth, even) systems available (for free) are a positive bonus.

Thank you in advance.

I'd suggest Mushclient. Nezha has a free system which is decent, although it has some holes. It'll keep you alive, though.

You'll also get a lot of support for Lua scripting in it.

I agree. MUSHclient has a little higher learning curve than zMUD or CMUD, but it is free and you can find at least one free system for it. I'm building my own system for it, though I'm still debating how to charge for it and/or distribute it.

Get mushclient. Free is good. I wish I had started building my system on it rather than zMud, but I'm far too along now.

Probably going to start working on a Lua system for it once this one for zMud is done though.
