Without maps, I'm totally lost. Sad to say it, but I'm too visual and no matter how long I play MUDs, I can't make it without maps. So I started making maps in Lusternia to help myself get around, but I'm running into a problem. I stole Larkin's mapper from Achaea, and my maps for some reason now crap out randomly. To be honest, the parts I took are the parts that color the rooms so I'm not just staring at gray all the time. I prefer to make my own maps because it helps me explore, but does anyone know anything for Lusternia that can fill this void without making my maps die constantly. I've remapped the northwest part of one area three times already - this is getting way too time consuming.
Thanks!
Thanks!

There are the ingame maps and colourings. And there's Shamarah's map, which is based off Whyte's Mapper (altered to fit with Lusternia), and using a full map file. Not sure how much it costs - 25 credits?

No free utilities though, huh? I may have to figure this one out solo then.

Mudbot and the IMapper are free and open source.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/imts is the project from Imperian.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lmts/ is a slightly older version of IMTS modified specifically for Lusternia.

The maps in game look a lot like mudbot maps though...I suppose the speedwalking feature is still worth grabbing mudbot for though, I guess.

My zMUD map is half decent, but it was a bit of a pain to make and it doesn't always do exactly what I want. I use the zMUD map (in CMUD, actually) just as a visual reference and rely on my MudBot map for speedwalking and other things.
(Hi. I'm Larkin, too, by the way. )

Yes you are. Hi, Larkin!
Do you have a utility for Lusternia like the Acropolis mapper for ZMud? Or, at the very least, can you give me an idea as to how to make the in game mapper track when I swim? Really, I can pull your Acropolis one over to Lusty with no problem so far, with the exception of swimming. Doesn't seem to track, or auto-create new rooms.
Well, that and the new environment types need to be added and assigned colors. But that's a whole seperate issue I'll take care of.

I don't track swimming because I don't swim! I highly recommend you invest in a waterwalk enchantment.

You can also configure your numpad to take into account when you are doing different activities (burrowing, swiming, aether pilotting...and such), have the map ignore input so it relies on your numpad and move that way.
