So. With the advent of beasts, I suggest the Barding skill for Forgers and Caparisons for Tailors.
Barding would be minor armour for beasts. Caparisons would be essentially a cloak for beasts, with the opportunity to give the beast a minor resistance (cold resistance, etc.).
Both skills would allow people to create their own unique designs for their beasts.

Quick random question that will make sense when I post again. Can the items for miniatures be sold in a shop? Or does it not produce an actual item, but instead puts a cloak or what have you on the miniature?

Given...
I'm doubting this is in the cards.

I still can get rid of the vivid images of well... this

Alchemists already make reagents (that should probably have been something poisonists extracted from wild beasts, but too late for that). Herbalists make the herbs that alchemists use to make reagents. Cooks make feed. This would let forgers and tailors get something too. What about everyone else? Jewelers could make bits and bridles which enchanters could put mercy, perfection, and beauty on for beasts. Artisans could make troughs to expand feedbag capacity, and mini-stables for inside manses. Poisonists could still be able to make reagents as an alternative source to alchemists. And bookbinders could... bookbinders could... ah, heck, delete bookbinders.

Bookbinders make the books that we write beast training guides in.

Bookbinders make the books we feed to the horses

We had pondered giving some other tradeskills besides cooking and alchemy beast-related items, but ultimately decided that it just made beasts more complicated than necessary. That said, I'm not totally adverse to the idea though I think it's a little too early to start adding more things to beasts. We are going to ask for an envoy review of Beastmastery at some point which may be a good time to review these ideas--so keep listing/discussing them!

Well, with how much things like spellcasting costs (1500 mana), maybe it wouldn't hurt to be able to have enchantments like perfection for beasts.

Er, look at how much mana beasts can have! (Assuming you are putting trains into your beast's mind--if not, why you training them to cast spells?!)

Well, assuming you put 560 trains on mind with the remaining 40 on soul for regenerate ego, that still only means 14400 mana. That's not even ten spellcasts!

Psychosis is a very good explanation.

The point of this really was to give players a way to personalize their beasts. Essentially a tailoring shirt you could create specific designs for, so all the d'Muranis or Mesards could have family barding.
But why not allow Forgers a crack at it too, perhaps giving the beast at minimum half the armour the can get with beastmastery Armour. Oh and don't make the stats random for forging something like this please.
Hmm. Perhaps an option FORGE BARDING SPIKED. Less armour protection but does physical damage to any who attack the beast. Or FORGE BARDING SERRATED which gives one level of bleeding to any who attacked the beast.
