(Edited out some acquisitios and clantalk. Sorry for the Penumbra in the end, just felt like plus charisma. And Penumbra IS cool.)

Beseeching the Great Spirit of Night, shadows coalesce around your form as
she blesses you as leader of a coven.

You throw your arms wide and call out to the Spirit of Night. Shadows begin
to gather before you, coalescing into a shadow cauldron.

Thoughtfully, you say, "Could you leave your covens to join this coven
formed on this spot?"

You welcome Valonah into your coven.

You welcome Marcellus into your coven.

You welcome Amani into your coven.

Dancing shadows interlink grimy tentacles in a mysterious dance around the
boles of the surrounding trees. The ash trunks shoot straight upwards in a
clawing reach for the mostly unseen sky. Scratchy leaves scatter everywhere
in a biting rasp that tangles against any living creature daring this
wildwood. A darkened break to the north is the only apparent pathway
through here and several other groves of ash trees can be seen.
A blackthorn sapling clings tenaciously to the ground here.
Keeper of Night's Secrets Amani, Spinner of Dusk is here, shrouded.
She wields an athame dagger in her left hand. Seer Valonah Tar'sel,
Heart of Darkness is here, shrouded. She wields an athame dagger
in her left hand and a batwing shaped shield in her right. Prince
Marcellus Tar'sel is here. He wields an athame dagger in his left
hand and a wyrden shield of the seasons in his right.

You link hands with those in your coven to form a sacred circle.

You say, "This is a simple ritual to awaken the presence of Mother Night
and to honour Her with Liturgies."

You have emoted: Saaga breaks away from the circle, beckoning those on her
sides to join hands. She then walks to the middle of the circle and
gestures for silence.

Silently and humbly, you say, "I, Penumbra Saaga, stand before you, my brothers
and sisters in Mother Night, to unite us in a ritual in Her name."

You have emoted: Saaga pauses for a moment and then inhales slowly, absorbing
the scent of the Wyrden forest.

You intone, "As the dusk falls, Mother Night embraces the lands in Her dense
darkness."

You drop a shadow cauldron.

Dipping your hand into a shadow cauldron, you pull out a long shadow and
release it into the air. The room darkens with the churning darkness.

Speaking in a low, hushed voice, you say, "The shadowy veil descends, the
curtain of darkness falls, the winds still and all sounds are hushed."

You have emoted: Saaga closes her eyes and slowly opens them again, standing in
complete silence.

Eyes twinkling in an eerie blue, you say, "This darkness conceals and protects
the aware, yet leads astray and ensnares the unaware."

Dipping her hand into the shadow cauldron and drawing out yet another shadow
that circles around the gathering, you say, "Terrifying is the beauty of Mother
Night!"

You have emoted: Saaga bows her head in respect and lowers her arms, her words
lingering in the cool night. A chilling breeze causes the shadows to swirl in an
eerie, jerking dance.

In a hushed voice, you say, "I now recite the First Liturgy."

You recite, "Hail Night, Mother of Darkness; attend to us in this, our hour of
need. Guide us down the trifold path, and grant us strength in your shadowy
embrace. May Sun never find us unawares and Moon ever hide from Your Might."

You have emoted: Saaga falls silent, contemplating the beauty of the surrounding shadows.

You have emoted: Saaga turns around slowly to meet the eyes of each of the coven present.

Midnight shadows coalesce around a new day, and Mother Night embraces the land in
utter darkness.
It is now the 13th of Avechary, 222 years after the Coming of Estarra.

Queen Maeve of the Fae shouts, "Faethorn declares neutrality in these troubled times!"

You say to Marcellus, "Could you, Prince Marcellus, please step forward and recite
the Liturgy of Death?"

Stepping forward, Marcellus bows his head solemnly and continues. Speaking with a
determined sense of purpose, Prince Marcellus Tar'sel says, "The sibilant whispers
of gravestones, the dead speak truths unheard by living flesh. Tend to the living
who are marked for death, taken once more into Her embrace. So the First of the
Triad of Night is Marked, by mournful wailing."

You have emoted: Saaga bows her head in reverence.

You say to Valonah, "Could you, Seer Valonah, please step forward and recite the
Liturgy of Blood?"

Stepping forward, her eyes meet each of those in the coven as she clearly stating
the liturgy of blood, Seer Valonah Tar'sel, Heart of Darkness says, "Blood is the
bounty of the victorious, and the sorrow of the fallen. The scent of blood upon
the air, its taste upon our lips. So the Second of Triad of Night is Marked, by
blooded mist."

You have emoted: Saaga bows her head once again. She then turns to Amani.

You say to Amani, "Could you, Spinner Amani, please step forward and recite the
Liturgy of Shadow?"

Stepping forward and speaking the words clearly, though her tone is soft, Keeper
of Night's Secrets Amani, Spinner of Dusk says, "The howling within the shadows,
marks those who hunt the Night. In stealth the shadowbound walk, yet ever they
turn the illuminated aside. So the Third of the Triad of Night is Marked, by
silent descent."

The shadows slowly start to dissipate.

Dipping your hand into a shadow cauldron, you pull out a long shadow and release
it into the air. The room darkens with the churning darkness.

You have emoted: Saaga raises her arms towards the sky, shadows brushing against
her sapphire-stained wrists.

You say, "We pray to you, Mother Night, and to your Awakener. May we walk in your
shadows silently, revealing little. Grant us beauty and grace to lead astray our
enemies. Grant us thirst to grow and progress so that we may always use our best
endeavours for You. May we be loyal to each other and stand united against those
who oppose you. May the Shadows guide us!"

Silently, you say, "We give thanks to Her Awakener, Lord Nocht."

You recite, "The Awakener of our Exalted Mother, She whose Shadows embrace us,
His and Her devout -- forever shall we serve Him. As He is silent, so too shall
we be; as He reveals little, so too shall we. Among swirling darkness and dancing
shades, shall we ever be; naught but a Whisper influencing from the Shadows, shall
we ever be."

You have emoted: Saaga pauses for a moment, inhaling the scent of her surroundings.

You have emoted: Saaga lowers her arms in reverence and whispers a word of thanks.

Many small, glowing red eyes peer out at you from beneath the trees, only to vanish
moments later.

Marcellus smiles softly.

Silently, you say, "Thank you, my brothers and sisters in Night."

Amani's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

You say, "Thank You, Mother Night."

You call out "Thank you."

Valonah's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.

You say, "We now dance Penumbra and carry Mother Night's beauty with cunning and grace."

Seer Valonah Tar'sel, Heart of Darkness says to you, "Thank yoU!"

You link hands with those in your coven to form a sacred circle.

You lead the coven in a ceremony to bring Mother Night's penumbra of beauty around it.
Shadows ooze out of the pores of Amani, coating her skin in a black shell. She cries out
in pain as her body bubbles and warps under the cover of this shell, which finally cracks
apart and reveals smoother skin and muscles more defined and shapely. She brushes her hair
vainly, showing off her beautiful, new physique.
Shadows ooze out of the pores of Marcellus, coating his skin in a black shell. He cries
out in pain as his body bubbles and warps under the cover of this shell, which finally
cracks apart and reveals smoother skin and muscles more defined and shapely. He throws
his shoulders back in a boastful display of his beautiful, new physique.

out in pain as her body bubbles and warps under the cover of this shell, which finally
cracks apart and reveals smoother skin and muscles more defined and shapely. She brushes

Shadows ooze out of your pores, coating your skin in a painful, corrosive shell.
Your body is agonizingly transformed, so your skin is smoother and breasts fill out
and become more plump and shapely. When the shell cracks apart, you cannot help but to
brush your hair vainly, showing off your beautiful, new physique.

My only problem with this is you do it early in the morning 15 minutes before I show up!

edit: Oh right, I almost forgot, I like it.

I can imagine it...

Saaga hurries into the room, "Quick! Before he gets here!"

*ritual*

Phew!

But seriously though, Saaga, it's nifty! cheer.gif

Congratulations, now you are part of our order's ancient enemies. nihilist.gif

Very nice. I like the whole concept of shadowdancers - they seem to be a mix between a MacBethian witch and a celtic druid, with a little dose of Sandman-esque darkness thrown in. The result is very slick and very intruiging. My only complaint is that Gloms different guilds don't seem to do very much together, so it's all spied from afar!

we are trying to work on that...it is a trick though, but I think there will be future endeavors of unity between the guilds. It is just the Shadowdancers are strictly Night followers, so it goes without saying those who join in must be as well, though if there is enough interest some concessions can be made inside various rituals. I have always wanted a unified ritual between the Shadowdancers and Ebonguard who follow Night, but ritual isn't pushed to hard in the Ebonguard, or at least when I was there it wasn't.

oh, and great work Saaga!

This is why if I ever go to Glom again, I'd have to change combat style. Too many rituals with the Shadowdancers, it's awsome to look at from the outside, but I couldn't handle it.
