Art isn't easy. It can take as long as a literary piece!

Literary works are very easy to write, when you have the inspiration. On the other hand, a paycheck ontop of my normal schoolwork is difficult.

I've been meaning to make some Lusternia plushies of either players or mobiles, but I can't find the materials and I don't have a digital camera. I imagine, though, that you could submit anything artistic, and it would be considered.

Art is hardly easy. I spend about 7-8 hours coloring a submission. COLORING. And that's when I'm really lazy with the background.

Writing bardics can also take a lot more or less time than you'd think. Of all of mine, "Transverse", the crossword puzzle, took by far the most time to do (and I don't think anyone even solved it!). Some longer plays took a lot less time than some much shorter ones. Poems usually take longer than things ten times their length.

I know there would be times where I would spend a lot less time if I submitted a Bardic work. I could probably knock out a decent story within 5 hours or less (this is based on other stories I have written). Personally I like entering the Art contest because I don't have to think about it as much. I know my artwork varies in quality and that's usually because my time, energy, emotions, ect. are always varied when I do my artwork. I know what Kialkarkea means by easy. I don't think he means any disrespect. For me doing the contest is easier than spending the time and the effort hunting and spending my cash on them. A few of the works I have created are things I might consider putting into my portfolio.

As an aside- Shaddus, I can't speak speak for those who judge the artwork, but I think part of your trouble could have been the setting for your photo. I think it would have been a lot more natural if your wife was outside, in the fae element. (Maybe a spooky setting would have been good?) I would think that photos have a chance of winning, but again I can't speak for the judges. I personally think you should try again. Good luck to you!
