Time to try something new

I am bored.
Instead of unleashing my bipolar cravings to RP a different personality on Prisch(not like I haven't already) I am considering starting a new character. What I'd like like to know is, a little bit about what roleplay is like in the other orgs before I settle myself into one. Mainly the cities, as I haven't ever played in them before.

A guide to city roleplay.

Idler: A fellow who's only there for the muxxsexorz. Idles at the Pool/Megalith until he can convince someone to sleep with him.
Average Joe: He's here for the party, he wants to help out, learn how to do things. He will idle at the Pool/Megalith until something catches his interest.
Heretic: This person willingly flirts with the enemy and trades with them and asks why can't we let them live and try to co-exist for awhile?
Pacifist: Insists we should just get along and learn to love the differences in each other.
Extremist: Everything from the other city must be destroyed. Especially the novices. Who cares about returning their weapons? They are the enemy. No aid to the enemy.
Loony: Pie. Squirrels. Buggerit, millennium hand and fish. Best not to feed them lest they bite your hand.
Kawaii: Catgirl/Cute thing that always wants to be petted/hugged, showered with affection, happy and glad to see everyone and uses mild Japanese phrases until told to bugger off.

Then you have certain people who transcend their given sterotype and then are known by their names depending on what city you are in.

Talkan is viewed as an Average Joe in Celest while in Magnagora he's an extremist (Depending on who you talk to though for both sides).
Thoros is a griefer.
Ixion would be Average Joe in Magnagora, extremist to Celest.

These people are known as "Notables."

I believe this is law in cities. Or some variation.

Righto, here we go.

You got the Bleeps, the Creeps, and the Sweeps. (That's not all we got.)

Magnagora

Bleeps: These are the fellows who enjoy just hurting people. Niflhema's followers probably, or people of the mindset of "Celestian, let's Taint them and screw them over." Roleplay is more aligned with causing pain and chaos. Some pull it off well, but others go "CHAOS!" and tip over a fruit seller's cart.

Creeps: They'll skin you just because you happen to be close. They'll bring sheep home and call them fancy ladies. These are the more insane sort that Magnagora tends to get. People who just don't really care and go hog wild. When done well, you get Ixchilgal and Aiakon, I believe. When done bad, you get people just trying to sound intelligent and ending up looking really, really stupid.

Sweeps: They'll march in, kill your men, steal your women, and then after you get resurrected (If the Bleeps don't get you), take you out for beers. It's just go out, fight to defend the Motherland, and go home to them.

Celest

Bleeps: Tainted? Burn it. Who cares? Destroy it all. Oh yeah, yeah, sure, I'm "sad" by having to destroy it. Where's the gasoline?

Creeps: Weeeeeellll, Celest doesn't get these often. Usually mad inventors. This area in Celest is relegated to people who just want to live in peace and learn. Scholars, really.

Sweeps: They'll march in, kill your men, tip their hats to the women, and then after you get immolated (if the Bleeps don't get you), take you out for beers/water. It's just go out, fight to defend the holy land, and go home to them.

Prisch would fit into the heretic of Mag category perfectly.

I think the trick to playing Kawaii is that as long as you try to be as not cute as possible. Then you are somehow just cute.

Sort of like Yeralih. Bahah.
Saaga2009-01-28 10:49:37
I have developed a thing for these mad scientists in Lusternia. Saaga is too "thoughtful" and kind for that (sadly) but I simply adored Aiakon.

PRISCH - Jigan summed up the cities pretty well. I'd say, if you want to try something completely different, go Magnagora either with Prisch or with a new character (preferrably the latter as there is less baggage on him/her, but however you like. I can't really say, I've tried new things with Saaga too many times when I perhaps should have created a new character instead.) From what I have heard, Magnagora has very good roleplayers and then those who don't really RP - granted, every org has those. It does not suit everyone, however. I have found myself too thin-skinned for the city myself and I ended up disliking the characters after a while.
Prisch2009-01-28 11:41:40
Problem 1 I see with going Mag is the whole Elostian thing(I am left with the impression he is not very fond of that city), which used to be a pretty heavy part of my RP getting chucked out the window. Then again I have been 100% neglecting it anyways and there is always the "I am a secret agent" or "I wuz posessed by a demonz" crap that you can use as an alibi.

Problem 2 is the family stabbing me in the face for doing it.

I guess I did a really fail job of playing a "good" character first time from the get go with history of just playing chaotic characters. This would probably be justificiation for a lot of shady behaviour in the past that is just out of whack with what I was trying to play and would make things feel a lot more consistent or logical. Sorry, I'm rambling now.
Shiri2009-01-28 11:49:02
How are either of those things relevant when you said in the first post you want to make a new character?

That and Saaga was talking about it.
Unknown2009-01-28 12:12:23
The Talnaras wouldn't mind, I think.
Shiri2009-01-28 12:23:39
A couple of them wouldn't, anyway.
Prisch2009-01-28 12:32:13
If I'm in Glomdoring then atleast I have -some- family.
If I'm in Magnagora then it isn't omg#1enemyorg. But it isn't much better either.

Celest is just...No.
Saaga2009-01-28 13:44:42
And for the recond, Elostian does not care if you are Mag.

I also got the Spaceballs quote in there. Thumbs up to Jigan.
Prisch2009-01-28 23:17:24
Thank you for the feedback everyone.
It has helped me make a decision.
Unknown2009-01-29 00:42:02
Elostian allows Mags. And I want more Maglostians to talk to.
Prisch2009-01-29 00:48:17
Too late. Already talked to Emodoring.

I hate fines. Moreso because I have no gold to my name.
Unknown2009-01-29 01:20:59
Yay Glomdoring!

Erhem. Erm, is that Cardcaptor Sakura in your sig?
Prisch2009-01-29 01:25:10

Yes it is. I thought a change of theme was in order.
Dark > Flower. wub.gif
Unknown2009-01-29 01:34:00
Nifty. Cardcaptor Sakura was kinda interesting while I was still young.

EDIT: Erm, but that's off-topic. So, did you completely change characters, or just change orgs? And what about guilds? Are you the same archetype?
Unknown2009-01-29 01:43:23
I don't think Talkan is an Average Joe in Celest. He''s pretty much an extremist all around. Agree or do.
