Alright! Version 1.0 of my LMap. Areas I know I am missing are Astral, Muud, catacombs, the aetherbubbles, as well as the Taerin Passages and related planes. If you can think of any others I am missing, let me know. I only have two guildhalls right now (Celestines and Ebonguard), so if you'd like me to map those too, also let me know. There are also a few quest rooms which I have got in lots of areas. I'll update this post as I update my own map.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you just need to download the LMTS from here and then extract the files from the link below and drag it into your LMTS folder. If this is wrong, someone more knowledgable please let us know!

Download here.

Lusternia has got to be THE most well mapped MUD in existence. Why haven't we won some International MUD Mapping Award yet?

Nice work Rika smile.gif

I don't use LMTS, but I will be using your file. Thanks.
Unknown2009-02-07 05:31:16
Thanks for the map. I'll be poking it for places I haven't found just yet.

That RapidShare.com is crap, though. You should really just sign up for a GooglePages account and dump the file there.
Rika2009-02-07 05:40:03
But Rapidshare was easier... remember, I'm a noob. tongue.gif
Unknown2009-02-07 12:12:58
Rapidfire reeks. I clicked, it says my IP address is currently downloading it, even though I know that I'm not, and my brothers aren't using Rapidfire either. After more than 10 tries, I finally get to the 'Wait X secs' screen, only to have it say that I 'timeout'. Then I click again, and it says I have used up my free downloads for the day, would you like to sign up for premium?

Just do as Zarquan says and use googlepages. Please?

Also, which LMTS version should I download? Do I need to download both the files without binaries and with, or just the one with binaries will do. Also, what do I do with the files after I download it? Move it to Mushclient folder? Double-click something? The readme file doesn't seem to say how to install it, other than some mentions about Imperian.
Unknown2009-02-07 12:27:02
LMTS is simple. You extract the archive (just the bin one, you don't need the source unless you're going to muck around with it) into any directory you choose. Run mb-core.exe from that directory (which will be the directory where you put Rika's LMap file, too, by the way) and set your client to connect to MudBot. You'll find the port number in config.txt, and you can change that, if you want. You'll need to restart MudBot for any changes to take effect, of course.

Ok, I finally downloaded Rika's map from the infernal Rapidshare.

However, I don't get the ' - Connect with your MUD client at host 'localhost' port '123'' part.
I've tried creating a new world with that, doesn't work. I tried modifying the config to listen on port 23, nothing happens.

EDIT: Never mind, figured it out. The listen on port 123 was in comments. doh.gif Same problem again.

EDIT: I'm looking at the Mudbot console, and I see this:

atcp: Sent IAC DO ATCP. (many many times)
Server closed connection.
Sock.sinaddr: 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
Too many messages! Disabling the console.

Is that a cause for worry? If so, how do I fix that?

Also, I have no idea how to use LMTS. What are the commands? 'help doesn't seem very ... helpful. (EDIT: Never mind, solved it again by lmap help.)
Vionne2009-02-07 14:22:40
Also it is ` not ' (it's the one under ~~~ not the one with """)
Unknown2009-02-07 14:24:01
Yea, I know, I typed wrongly for the previous post. I got it right while inputting it, just that it doesn't give the commands that I was looking for. oops.gif
Vionne2009-02-07 14:46:26
Oh, okay! It's a really easy mistake to make until you get in the habit.

As long as your mudbot doesn't crash, I wouldn't worry about it saying that it has to close the console.
Unknown2009-02-07 16:10:59
MudBot just keeps trying to acknowledge the ATCP option because the MUSHclient plugin sends a duplicate enable request. It's nothing really to worry about. I'd fix it, but I'm having other issues with my MudBot lately.
Rika2009-02-07 18:24:24
Okay, changed the download link!

Just to save some time, the default for Zarquan's LMTS I linked to was localhost at port 3000.

lmap help is great if you are trying to edit the map for yourself.

Simple commands:

lmap path # - sets the path to a vnumber
go - pathfinds to wherever you set
stop - stops pathfinding
room find - brings up a list of rooms that matches the string of letters you put in, with vnumbers

lmap create - goes into mapping mode (If you don't know what you are doing, don't move around with this setting)
lmap follow - just follow the map
area off - must be in mapping mode. Will stop pathfinding through those areas. For example, area off magnagora would mean you will avoid going into magnagora when going from the Southern to Ackleberry highways.

A mini-update. Not much as actually changed, except a few things here and there. I mostly released this because Vionne kept getting lost in Elostian's temple. Just unzip and drag into your mudbot file and replace the old one with this one.

Rakor2009-04-21 04:23:13
So, uh... any updates?
Rika2009-04-21 05:31:55
I do updates based on requests (since I've pretty much got everything I need). Just let me know if you have an area which you'd like to get done and I'll see what I can do.
Casilu2009-04-21 06:14:12
Map inside of my head, I get lost in there too often.
Unknown2010-10-30 04:14:10
You said not to walk around in LMAP CREATE...but I'm just wondering, how exactly do you map yourself? I've been meaning to add a few areas I saw missing.
Unknown2010-10-31 11:55:28
Typically, you add rooms by using LMAP CREATE and then walking around, doing SURVEY in each room as you go (to update terrain and area). However, there are other commands that need to be used to handle all sorts of tricky things, like exit lengths greater than a single hop, special exits, unidirectional exits, looping mazes, etc. That's what gets most people confused.

Since the map file is a simple ASCII format, you can also manually append/edit rooms by just using your favorite text editor and then reloading the map in your client.
