Hi!

I'm currently running a Forgotten Realms DnD 4th Edition campaign and need 1-2 more players, preferably rolling Controller and/or Defender. Current party composition is Barbarian, Warlock, and Bard. New characters start at current party level and get shoehorned in somewhere.

We're using Maptool to do the actual gameplay. Meetup time is Sunday, 12PM -> some time in the afternoon (4PM-10PM max) Pacific time. The game's theme is pirates of the high seas, consisting of lootan', plunderan' and burnan'. Also, Klaus Badelt music.

Further mechanic differences/house rules:

1. This is a pretendy-fun-times game. Srs cats and rules lawyers are not allowed to play. Also, no Chaotic Stupid (I lick the orc).
2. If you have an issue with a player's actions or rule/ruling, bring it up with me after the game. Just roll with it during the game.
3. You don't need to make tokens. Provide me with the avatar image and the character sheet and I'll build you a 4e token using Maptool with the items and skills you requested. Same thing happens during level-up. You may edit attack messages to your heart's content, but please keep the mechanic messages the same. This will let me keep combat fast-paced and keep you from having to enter a lot of stuff because you can just push a button and get the attack.
4. Gameplay balance (at least what I'm aiming for) should be about:
   
   1. 50% RP/noncombat actions that may lead to combat or action sequences (skill challenges, sneaking, disarming traps, etc.)
   2. 20% combat.
   3. 20% puzzle solving/action sequences (see: Prince of Persia, Indiana Jones)
   4. 10% LOOTAN AND PILLAGAN. BURNAN may be involved here too.

Woo. I always wanted to play DnD, but could only find one other person who wanted to join a club. And I have very little knowledge of the rules, but it might be fun with forum-folks.

I may want to join. Could I know a little more of the characters (and the basic back story and perhaps what has happen so far)?

I played with these guys before and it was rather fun. I'd join again if it there wasn't a chance that I might need to ditch (like last time >.>).

Something neat Mekai is doing is incorporating our backgrounds into the overall story. So, while your background doesn't need to be as absurdly detailed as mine, it is fun to think of one and it's going to be fun to see how everything plays out.
