So! Gregori, as he told me, was inspired by the creation of Nyir's sermon to the point he dug out his own, which he worked on some number of months ago. This morning, he completed it, and this evening he decided to give it for the Serenwilde. >_> Figured I'd post it.
QUOTE
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard smiles and says, "Greetings to all of you. Thank you for coming."
Looking around at those assembled, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "We gather to discuss the Sacred Grove, the White Hart and Nature."
Raising himself to his full height and taking a deep breath, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "The Sacred Grove... it is the home of Hartstone, but it is more than that. It is a symbol. A symbol of hope, a symbol of the past, the present, the future. A symbol of Mother Moon and of Brother Hart. However, it is also a symbol of trouble and misery, of ancient feuds and bloody history. We are not without fault, my Druids. We are merely the servants of Nature and the Sacred Grove is a reminder to us all of everything we stand for."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Each stone within the Sacred Grove is a piece of the whole. Each one tells a story, reminds us of who we are. If even one were to fall we would be incomplete. For this reason the Sacred Grove must put aside it's differences and become united once more. For we are all part of the whole."
Letting out a long sigh and looking around the small grove once more, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Thus, we come to Brother Hart, our guide, our confidante, our protector and our friend. We come to him regularily seeking advice, seeking guidance and wisdom. However, his voice does not to tell us what we should do, his voice merely opens paths for us to follow."
Pointing to the east, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Do we go this way?"
Pointing to the west, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Do we go that way?"
Letting his hand fall to his side once more, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "The choices we make we must live with for the rest of our lives and choices are never easy to make. Brother Hart knows this. He knows that whichever path we take we had to choose to lose something to gain something. This is why he walks with us. To be there when we fall and to show us that no matter our choice he watches over us."
Nodding with respect to the White Hart, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "There is another though, one who seeks to twist what we love, to taint our minds with false memory, to blind us as he is blinded. This is our beloved White Hart's enemy... Crow."
Gathering his thoughts, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Once known as Raven, and loved by Brother Hart, he now sits within his tree to the south and waits... watches... and whispers to those who listen. Turning the hearts and minds of otherwise sane mortals against all that is pure and natural in the world. Twisting them into carrion eating mockeries of their true selves. He blinds them to the truth of Nature and guides them to spread their infestation across the lands. Making a mockery of even those closest to us... those most trusted by us."
Speaking quietly and sighing sadly, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "For this, our White Hart died. To save us from ourselves. Sacrificed upon the Spear of Nintoba to protect all that he cherishs from those of us who were once twisted by Crow's falsehoods."
Lifting his gaze, a tear streaking the fur beneath his left eye, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "For this, we have learned of true sacrifice. It is not enough to stand and say we love the Serenwilde. To say we love the fae. To say we love the natural world. We must be prepared to sacrifice everything for it. We must learn from Brother Hart.."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard lifts his gaze to the sky. Collecting his thoughts before lowering his eyes once more and continuing.
Glancing to the south, then the east and finally the west, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "We are surrounded by enemies."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "To the south is the Glomdoring, the twisted forest, the home of Crow and Night. We have lost many to their insidious whispering, their promises of youthful beauty and grace, their false memories. However, just as Crow has but one eye, Glomdoring has one vision. They do not see beyond themselves."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "To the west we have New Celest. The city of light, the remnants of the Old Celestian Empire. They tell us that they wish to right the wrongs of their ancestors, and yet in their time they have slaughtered the fae, taken them to be seduced and transformed into cherubs to entertain their half formed supernals, declared war on us for not bowing to their demands, and in all things have yet to show actions other than conquest and genocide of any who do not follow their ways."
Nodding to the east, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Finally we have Magnagora. Tainted by the actions of the Old Celestian Empire, thriving on centuries of inbreeding and tainted bloodlines. Worshipping their half formed demon lords they feed the fae to Gorgulu changing them into imps. Guided by the Traitors they weaken the bonds of Nature with their taint and depravity against the Ethereal and Prime planes. They attack our home. They attack our Divine. They attack our kin. They destroy anything they cannot change."
Speaking loud enough to make sure all can hear, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Make no mistake. We are surrounded by enemies."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard looks to each of you a moment. A faint smile curling the lips of his muzzle. His tail swaying back and forth behind him.
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "But what of us? Who are we? What is our purpose?"
Pausing for a moment, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "We are Serenwilde. We are the last bastion of Nature. We are the only true survivors of the Taint. We are the last Great Forest."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "Nature is our purpose. Healing the scars of the land. Driving the taint from the soil. Protecting the natural world from the infestation of the Wyrd. Keeping the New Empire from growing once more and watching history repeat itself."
Pointing to the trees around him, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "We are more than forest dwellers, though. We are more than gardeners of trees and bushes. All of the natural world is our purpose, and it is a purpose that Glinshari and Ellindel passed down to us when the fae taught them. When the White Hart taught them. When Mother Moon taught them. It is an obligation we owe for all that was given to us, all that was sacrificed for us.."
With a note of conviction, Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard says, "And we will not stand and watch the world be destroyed by any forces as long as we have blood in our veins and the strength to fight on."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard whispers, "This... is our sacrifice."
Hierophant Gregori Mes'ard closes his eyes a moment, his tail ceasing its gentle sway before he turns and quietly walks out of the grove.

Because nobody else was going to! Didn't mean I had to post it, just because I was logging it!

I inspired someone! *pride*
I like how close together these two sermons were performed. Mine was about death, killing, and dying, and this looks like it focuses on sacrifice. They complement each other nicely. Even though we might not know ICly, it creates a neat imaginary battle of ideals in my mind between followers of Hart and Crow because of the timing of both.
I like the physical use of directions to signify where to go and to signify the Serenwilde's enemies. I also like how Celest is named an enemy in all that.
I liked reading this!

Yeah, I'll admit, I would have loved to have seen this firsthand. It was a pretty good read without even being there.

It was cool being there, but undermined by the apathy of some of the observers. For example, someone complaining afterwards that it wasn't a rite, and they didn't get experience.

I am glad people liked it. I was pretty nervous since it has been a while since I did anything big RP wise.
I was kind of disappointed by the lack of Serenwilde involvement. 36 people were online in Serenwilde. 10-ish people showed up. 6 of those were from Hartstone itself so were told to be there...

I loved it and it makes me sad that all I've been able to do of late is troll the forums.
