Be sort of neat to have an ability in arts or artisan or something to let you group flowers together into bouquets.
Iola2009-04-10 14:05:03
That would be awesome, especially if you could combine different types of flowers and rather than get 'a bouquet of red roses' get 'a bouquet of assorted roses' etc...

You mean this?

Item type: Bouquet  Components:
Prestige: 0 (Min/Max): 3/7
Additional Ingredients:Â Â 1 sunflower
Appearance:
a cheery bouquet of sunflowers
Dropped:
A bright bouquet of sunflowers lies here.
Examined:
A selection of vibrant, long-stemmed sunflowers form this cheery bouquet, lightly tied together with a sunny yellow silken ribbon. Expertly preserved by a florist at the peak of perfection, the blossoms are a bright golden orange, with the petals stained a darker marigold down the center. A few small sprigs of greenery and
baby's breath frame the blooms, adding only the most subtle of accents to this simple, vivid arrangement.
Smell:
Sniffing this cheery bouquet, you can detect the faint, subtle aroma of sunflowers.
Notations around the edge of this document indicate that it is a layout for use in designs.
Item type: nosegay  Components: NONE
Additional Ingredients:Â Â 1 snapdragon
Appearance:
a venomous nosegay
Dropped:
A deep blue nosegay has been left here.
Examined:
Rare lurid blue flowers have been gathered into a small nosegay, tightly wrapped with a thick silver cord.  Streaked a pale azure at the base, before deepening into a deep sapphire at the edges of the petals, the unique blossoms are unusual to the point of mystery. The pungent, soporific aroma wafting up from the bundle
hints at the nature of the odd blooms - the familiar odor of delphinium, sweetened by the flower's pollen yet still retaining a bitter, toxic undercurrent, is nearly overwhelming. A cluster of snapdragons has been tucked into the middle of the small bunch, petals and stamen yawning in a gnashing grimace, with the plant's curls shaped disturbingly akin to bared fangs.
Worn 1p:
You carefully affix a lurid blue nosegay to your outfit, gingerly securing a pin through the cluster of flowers.
Worn 3p:
$(name$) carefully affixes a lurid blue nosegay to $(his$) outfit, gingerly securing a pin through the cluster of flowers.
Removed 1p:
You carefully retract the pin securing the azure nosegay, removing the blossoms.
Removed 3p:
$(name$) carefully retracts the pin securing the azure nosegay, removing the blossoms.
Smell:
A heady, sweet odour rises up from this nosegay, underpinned with the subtle, spicy note of snapdragon blooms.
Notations around the edge of this document indicate that it is a layout for use in designs.
Item type: wreath  Components: NONE
Additional Ingredients:Â Â 3 bone slice 1 rose
Appearance:
a wreath of skulls
Dropped:
A macabre wreath of skulls hangs here in a leering collection of empty grins.
Examined:
Tiny, delicate skulls have been carefully collected into a fragile wreath of bone and bracken. Petite and polished, the pates are clearly those of infants, with miniature teeth smiling in grim, childish leers. A thorny base secures the piece together, while blackened roses twine through the clusters of bone. Velvety ebony petals gently rest against the curled ridges of eyeless sockets, the flowers posed preserved in the height of bloom, as if in mockery to the grim, stark lifelessness of the skulls.

Aetolia has floristry? That is so awesome.
But anyway, I like this idea! I'd love to have bouquets like they sell in Achaea.

Not even to that extent, even if it was just like "a bouquet of 12 pink roses" and a more generic sort for combinations of different flowers or two or so types..
Asmodea2009-04-12 09:10:05
I idea'd that once, to be an arts ability, that let you make bouquets, wreathes, and that sort of thing.

Floral arrangement has a great deal of use in many places. Once, while helping my grandma put together a wedding cake, I used what I learned in horticulture about flower arranging to help decorate the top of the cake with a small arrangement.
I would approve of a basic floral arranging skill in arts.
Which reminds me, perhaps it would be curious, for some of these smaller Tag-a-long ideas in arts, allow cartels to purchase the ability to gain a special slot specifically for that ability.
Jigganatic kitchens buys a special clanslot for 100cr, it can now have it listed under Floral Arrangement. So, it's now a cooking and a floral arrangement cartel. This way, you can introduce some of the smaller ideas, and still have variety. Perfumes could go the same way as well, I believe.

I think flowers should be ingredients for perfumes....
Shaddus2009-04-15 00:30:01
I think you should be able to design your own perfume.

I made a thread suggesting this idea a few months ago. It'd be great if they'd let us. Flowers as they are, are annoying and don't have as much rp flavour

Can flowers be worn here? You should be able to choose were you wear a flower, and receive a line to your description like you would for an article of clothing. I cannot imagine where you would wear one, besides in your hair or over an ear, but flavor, and whatnot.
Iola2009-04-16 07:42:54
You can wear flowers, yes - but they appear like any other item of clothing.
Now if they worked like piercings and you could 'wear flower in hair' and it would be 'is wearing a red rose in her hair/buttonhole/etc'...
