Hm...I think it might still be too long...log fail.
Anyways, summary of the fight:
-I kept trying to build up momentum, b/c my lvl 4 and 5 forms are what actually do anything harmful.
-Once Driala figured that out, she kept doing a bunch of different things to hinder me, such as pacify, hangedman, aeon, etc.
-I could almost keep up with all of that, throwing in allheale and green occasionally, but everytime I'd start trying to build up momentum again, she'd just stop me for a very long time.
-She ended up successfully tossing a soulless on me.
Right now, my "momentum up" forms involve just a hold with steelgrip in a form. I figured it would hinder them for at least a little while building up momentum to at least lvl 3, but apparently it isn't enough of a hinder.
Suggestions?

I think for gaining momentum, a kick with speed modifier would be better.

What exactly happens when you try a form against somebody with a shield up? Or rebounding? Does a hold go through a shield?
And what about a form with just one punch, but some modifier that might afflict (not sure if this is possible)?

You can afflict with punches but you need some wounds to do it reliably. For the first few forms razing with one hand and using your envenomed weapon with the other works okay, plus possibly some tahteso mod. Unless you have a terribly slow weapon that will be faster than punching. If you feel like gambling you can try using your extra momentum move at 2 or 3 momentum.
