For: Bookbinding
Make vials of vanilla oil usable for the express purpose making scented paper designs, ideal for diaries or journals or for people who want to enjoy the smell while writing.
For: Letters
And better yet, allow vanilla scents or other scents to be laced in letters, for a more personalized touch in writing say love letters.
I'm a sucker for romanticism, but worth a shot anyway.

As a small sidenote, the Charites told me that it is allowed, they just haven't updated it yet. I believe that actually putting it in the design would be feasible.
But I see what you'd like, a group of scents to apply to scrolls so when you smell them, they have a nice aroma. Rose, Liliac, Jasmine, and other such things. That would be a very nice touch, I believe.

I like the idea. Let me see...
There ya go.

I've managed to get scented items through before, including some baskets and even a few articles of furniture, by using spices and in some cases sugar. I don't see why paper couldn't be done that way too. (As noted the vanilla thing is just an outdated help file.)

My lyre went through and it is scented. If I'm not mistaken, there are flowers in the comms to provide the scent.
Scented items go through all the time, it's just in how you describe it and making sure the comms make sense

I think it was more being able to use vanilla oil to scent books and letters that was the proposal, since Vanilla has been forbidden for so long.
Does this mean we can make Vanilla Ice-Cream now?

To clarify and confirm.
The above is quite true. The Charites have no problem at all with scented items, provided that - as usual - the commodity outlay makes sense.
Vanilla is also okay, if spices are included in the commodity outlay. As such vanilla ice cream would be fine.
Incidentally obsidian is also fine if inferno beetles are included as comms.

I think the OP is asking for scrolls to get a "sniff" response from the object if you use scented oils as a material.
