Hey! I've written a story, which I'm going to be brave soon and try to sell!

Anyway, I would love a few eyes to peer at it and tell me if there's any really horrible spots left in it. I've gone through it a few times, but better eyes than mine can only help spotting things like grammar uh ohs, typos, areas where the plot doesn't move, etc. It's about 5,950 words (give or take). It's a horror story.

No one wants to point out my glaring typos and plot holes? I know for a fact we've got some really good writers and some incredible grammar-nazis round here.

Hmm...I might take a look at it. But in exchange...perhaps, since it sounds like you've done this before, maybe you can teach me how to sell stories? Of the fictional kind that is.

Um, this'll be the first time I'm trying. (Hence the 'going to be brave' part of the first post. )

But, generally, I just did a google search for horror magazines and then clicked on the guidelines of each one, read a few of their stories if they had any online, made a list of the ones that it seemed like my story would fit with in order of which pays best. I'll send the story (set up according to their guideline) to one and cross my fingers they decide to buy it! If not, I'll send it to the next.

I can! I do it for a non-living in Celest, also in RL too! It might take me a bit to get through it, but I'd be happy to take a look. I think all my messenger crap is in my profile.
