EDITED: Well, it had thought behind it and maybe some wit, but due to my bad information from old memories and sources, I failed. thxbai.

This whole thread is wrong. Pixies and crows don't drop essence.

We don't get shadowy/silvery essence that way at all. Essence is obtained from creatures on the ethereal planes, or converted from light/dark essence.
Yiro2009-06-07 04:49:10
Really now? Then how exactly -is- the essences gathered, because when I've tried the communes at a time, that's how I got them...
EDIT: Alright, was misinformed yet again, wiping original after a few more hate messages, whee.

Shadowy/silvery essence is obtained without conversion the same way as light and dark; Gloms, at least, kill creatures in EtherGlom (spiders and stuff) and I'm pretty sure Serens do too. The pixies and shadows of crows are used for the communes' power quests.

Yeah, fixed my edit to reflect, as it said, wiping in a few moments. Yay for looking like an idiot with bad information

Pixies actually do drop silvery essence when killed, but since they're loyals, it's not a way for Seren to get it.

Yep yep. -2 power for Serenwilde, +1-5 power for the raider.

Sounds like a change for sands/shadows of crow somehow

Only if we start getting gold for our power quest.
Our shadows are "invincible," but they're also the lowest gain of any of the four power quests. Magnagora's have the most gain, but are the hardest for newbies to fully do (and can be very easily stolen). Celest's have a lot of gain, but can be stolen. Serenwilde's have experience and a bit of gold, but can technically be stolen (if someone raids Prime Seren). Glom's has nothing but the experience, and can't be stolen.
