So I don't really know what I'm doing with bonecrusher combat, I flail away at the legs and gut going for knockdown/wind, then hit the head when it seems like it's appropriate. I put dulak/mantakaya on my hammers, and pretty much ignore necromancy's active abilities because I don't know how to incorporate them. Here are my manuevers and skills:

CODE
Maneuver: Strikepart
Action: Strike
Wounds: Breakjaw, wind, breakchest, knockdown, breakarm, crushwindpipe, vomitblood, concussion, and burstorgans

Maneuver: Smitepart
Action: Smite
Wounds: Breaknose, fractureskull, bashbrain, breakchest, and crushchest

Maneuver: Crushpart
Action: Crush
Wounds: Breakjaw, wind, breakchest, knockdown, breakarm, crushwindpipe, vomitblood, concussion, and burstorgans

Maneuver: Bashpart
Action: Bash
Wounds: Fracturearm, wind, breakchest, breakarm, crushchest, vomitblood, and breakwrist

From what I understand of BC combat, the key is stun. For example, you could change your smite down maneuver to only have breaknose, breakchest, and bashbrains, so every hit stuns or would be the killing blow.

Also, to be honest, BC is the best warrior spec to use the active necromancy skills. If you can stick ectoplasm on them, you could crucify and then use wind to stop them from recovering balance while you administer the poisons to break legs.

From what I understand of the afflictions I can output with bonecrusher, the stuns are knockdown, breakchest, breaknose - are there any others?

Those three are it. You'll also want to think about poisons. For example, if you can knockdown on the first hit of a combo, you can probably break on the second hit. Maybe if you put senso on the first hit and the leg-breaking poison whose name escapes me on the second, you can keep them down for a bit longer and maybe get in an attack without parry or stance.

The problem I see with that is they can apply/stand as soon as they're unstunned... wouldn't it be better to use Mantakaya for the delay?

If senso hit, they couldn't apply right away, and with the second broken bone, there would still be about a second or so delay. Heck, if you could build up the wounding, you could probably try to mangle.

you can cure senso and the broken leg instantly with even a poor curing system.

Mantakaya is decent for knockdowns, but remember to assume your opponent has transed discipline (and thus less than a second delay for mantakaya).

Daved, check out my personal setup for maneuvers (and basic information about bonecrusher) here: http://akujin.dyndns.org/bonecrusher.xhtml

Also, you have to take into account what type of equipment you are using. What is your setup? Bonecrusher is better with speed. I'm not saying use bashing weapons like I do but maybe some high prec/speed hammers. Also, what combat style do you use. Don't use lightning cause it is worthless for pk. I use aggressive myself to throw off health application for wounds with sipping, concentrated would probably work well for you for pk.

You should be able to get two broken legs (one from poison, one from BC skills) against a robe-wearer and the time for regaining salve balance seems to be just over a second.

broken limbs are a pain to get, stancing usually ruins any chance of getting any real damage in on them.

There are plenty of ways to avoid stance/parry...

Teach me, because I only know crush, knockdown, stun, mantakaya, and damaging another area.
Vathael2009-06-06 00:05:45
If you know all that then you should be good to go! Put it to use. I don't have any problems hitting what limb I want to.

Here's how you attain mastery of bonecrusher.

love.gif Now that's helpful.

In that maneuvers table, what is the watch for column and why is it not included in the wounds column?
Vathael2009-06-06 16:05:48
Certain afflictions to watch for to know how you are doing and what to go for if I were to guess.

EDIT: A side note I like how the majority of his maneuvers are named like mine.
Daved2009-06-06 16:13:31
I thought you couldn't afflict with something not included in the wounds of your maneuver - not so?
Vathael2009-06-06 16:30:26
I'm taking it as it says watch for fractured skull and hit with windpipe lock. I'm really not sure though, just a guess.
