For those curious about Thiodone's shouting, here is the whole matter.

QUOTE
Gesturing to the centre of the amphitheatre, Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Please, join me."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We, the city, have called you to the amphitheatre because we fear you have transgressed from the path of the Light. Many of our citizens have come to me in fear, and in distrust, proclaiming a most foul temper and demeanor."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Thus, I can only solve this with our good Magistrate."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "I beseech the Judgement of the Illuminator upon Jozan."
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate says, "So be it, Ilyarin. I shall seek Judgement upon Jozan."
Lambent motes of topaz light manifest themselves within the air, swirling languidly about the amphitheatre, burning away the shadows with a soft luminescence.
-
You see Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate yell, "Let it be known that on this day, I shall hear the words of Jozan, and then bring judgement upon them!"
-
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate says, "Very well, Jozan. You now stand trial before your peers and the Light, and know the Light burns away all cast shadows, and illuminates every corner of thy soul."
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "I admit I have a foul temper and mood."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "You stand accountable for at least four counts of citizen harassment, breaching the covenant on at least two occassions, instilling the general citizenry with a feeling of fear and unwelcomeness, and considering the subversion of the Light to the highest bidder. What say you?"
-
The bright sun shines down upon you.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "I'm fine with this."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin raises an eyebrow questioningly.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "I don't know, I'm tired. What do you want me to say?"
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "You admit, then, unreservedly?"
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "Well, I asked Lord Eventru for penance."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "At least for the subersion to the Light and He said he would forgive me for my idiocy."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "I see. Then before judgement passes, do any from the stands wish to voice testimonial?"
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "As for the four counts of harassment, I've already stopped spanking people."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "But I know I don't get along with people."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, before infusing itself into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Doman, The Exalted Fool says, "I will speak."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Please do, Doman."
-
Doman, The Exalted Fool says, "It has recently come to my attention, from numerous sources, that Jozan's temper has made life within celest...unpleasant for some."
-
Doman, The Exalted Fool says, "I speak on behalf of Jozen now, who has been verbally assault by Jozan on at least two occasions. Jozen has entered the intended hunting area of the accused, Jozan, and Jozan has ordered him to leave with...less than civil methods."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We hear the testimonial of Doman on behalf of Jozen and take it into consideration."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Do any others wish to step forward to speak?"
-
Doman, The Exalted Fool says, "The words used by Jozen to define Jozan's temperment were "Barbarous and Uncouth"."
-
You say, "I do."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Please speak, Kiradawea."
-
You say, "My first testimony is on behalf of Faroah, from the Tahtetso guild."
-
You say, "He has spoken to me about three different instances of what he perceives to be unfair treatment."
-
You say, "He feels that he has been unfairly removed from the position of Security, been denied the ability to advance in the guild and been mocked for being a member of the Startail clan."
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "I'd like to speak on my defence on that."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin tilts his head and listens intently to Jozen.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "Firstly, we have rules on security. Only the top two combatants are deemed security members."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "He was defeated in combat by Sram and thus replaced."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "He still has the chance to advance in marks."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We hear the words of Jozan's defence."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Are any testimonials left unvoiced?"
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says, "If no one minds id like to speak."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Speak."
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says to Ilyarin, "Thank you."
-
Comprehension flashes across Hyon's face.
-
Hyon sits down.
-
Hyon stands up and stretches his arms out wide.
-
Hyon quickly dusts himself off.
-
Hyon clears his throat in an attempt to gain everyone's attention.
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says, "So this is a testimony on the behaviour of Jozan yes?"
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Yes."
-
Postulant Azula says, "I would like to speak if possible, in partial defense of the Duke Jozan."
-
Hyon nods his head sagely.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Hyon speaks now."
-
Nemerle nudges Hyon suggestively.
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says, "Well id like to point out right now that their are some in this trial that also have had counts of harassment and have been well untouched by this so called new justice system we are now using."
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says, "I find it a bit unfair that Jozan is the only one being put on trial here."
-
Lavather nods his head at Hyon, showing his acceptance.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "This trial pertains to Jozan. It is not the only trial."
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says, "Also I must say do we not all go off the handle in our moments of anger and stress, and seeing as how the city is in its most lowest point in history yet wouldnt Jozan be a little hindered?"
-
Sir Hyon, Disciple of Aegis says, "And i see well alright then."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We hear the words of Hyon. We invite Azula to speak."
-
Azula clears her throat.
-
Hyon gives a pained sigh.
-
Ilyarin tilts his head and listens intently to Azula.
-
Postulant Azula says, "I do believe that the Duke Jozan, deserve, perhaps some time to change further. If it is indeed his nature to be... quite sour, to put it bluntly, perhaps we ought to simply try to adjust with him as well."
-
Zetetic Lavather d'Deneith says, "May I speak?"
-
Postulant Azula says, "Though I believe, that as a serving official of the City, it it is not appropriate to act accordingly, perhaps a sentence other than death would be more appropriate."
-
Jozan laughs out loud.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We hear the words of Azula, and invite Lavather to speak, the last to hold testimony."
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "Is that what you guys want from me?"
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "My death?"
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "For words?"
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Doman, The Exalted Fool says, "Who said that?"
-
Lavather stands up and stretches his arms out wide.
-
Zetetic Lavather d'Deneith says, "Well i think jozan should be give a period of time to change because to most of all the novices of his guild and some others he has nothing but helped us."
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "No, I admit to hating Jozen."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We hear the testimony of Lavather and the reply of Jozan. I think we have heard all that is relevant to this trial. Jozan, you stand before the Light."
-
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "I await judgment."
Jozan's voice rings out clear and perfect, echoing throughout the ampitheatre. Topaz glimmers of light swirl about him, before running down to the ground and outwards and then up the stands, cascading back to infuse themselves into the sands beneath Jozan's feet.
-
Lavather's eyes raise to the heavens as a look of hope flashes across his face.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "We await judgement."
-
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate says, "So be it then. I shall consider this for a moment."
Topaz glimmers of cosmic light swirl about the merian priest's form for a moment as he bows his head in thought.
Master Jozan d'Deneith says, "I await judgement."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Considering testimonials on both for and against, we come to the conclusion it is not the will of the Light to brand Jozan a traitor and remove him from the city."
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "Nor does the Light call for him to be slain in penance."
-
Showing that he understands, Nemerle nods his head slowly.
-
Ilyarin Peulus intones, "However, his actions are reprehensible and worthy of damnation. Jozan, we hereby cast you from the Light and mark you as Damned."
-
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate exclaims, "Let it be known that on this day, I have found Jozan to have fallen far from the Light and the ways of our people!"
-
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate exclaims, "I mark you as among the Damned, Jozan, and pray the Light will find redemption for you!"
-
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate exclaims, "Your deeds are terrible and betray the very values of the Light! I only hope you may find salvation someday, Jozan, for on this day I levy a most horrible punishment upon you! I find you Damned within the Light, and cast from Her Glorious Radiance! May She have mercy upon you, for my judgement is well deserved!"
Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate raises his right hand skyward as motes of topaz light swirl about the sands, slowly convening at his feet and then rising up his form, traveling down his arm to his upraised hand.
-
With a righteous cry Thiodone Ladyn lowers his hand, pointing imperiously at Jozan. A stream of topaz light ripples outwards, passing from the merian priest into the celestian awaiting judgement. A horrible cry escapes Jozan's lips as they clutch at their heart, before dropping to their knees. A sickly pale complexion settles over their features as they gasp for air.
-
You see Thiodone Ladyn, the Illuminator's Magistrate shout, "A dark day this is in New Celest, for I have found Jozan to be wanting, for they have committed grievous sins against New Celest and her people! I mark you as one of the Damned within the Light, fallen from the glory and beauty of her people! I only pray you find mercy upon the feet of the Throne of Brilliance!"

That was pretty nice. Especially the scripted parts of Thiodone. The spam every time Jozan spoke was a bit over, I guess. Jozan's attitude with this trial... it annoyed me that he wasn't taking it seriously. Unless, that is his character.

But what's the difference of branding him a Traitor, kicking him from the city and marking him as the Damned?
Kiradawea2009-06-18 11:48:41
We don't know. Yet. So far, all I know is that Helstren chewed out Jozan when he came to the harbour.
Unknown2009-06-18 11:49:43
Meleris does, too.

Jozan enters from the northwest, emanating an aura of immense power.
Meleris, Keeper of the Pool of Stars says, "This is a place sacred of the Light and Celestia, and not for one cast from it. Perform your business and leave quickly, Jozan - the very sight of you turns my heart heavy."
Meleris, Keeper of the Pool of Stars shakes his head sadly, sighing gently.

Pretty neat reactions, actually!
Siam2009-06-18 12:10:44
He deserves a DisHonour(?) line:

He was the first to be branded as a Damned in modern times

quickexit.gif

Also, politics news~!
Unknown2009-06-18 12:24:32
Meir gets ready to join Celest's newest guild - The Barristers!
Unknown2009-06-18 12:55:57
Yup, I had to go to a teleconference after this, so I was rushing it. Sorry, Ilyarin.

You lose 150,000 essence. For non-demigods, who don't know what that means it's about maybe an hour of bashing for you guys? Less for demigods.

Also as to my RP, yes. I'm RPing my general indifference and care to the situation and general disgust with the people I already hate. tongue.gif

EDIT: Also, I'm loving my new title. New honours line ftw.
Noola2009-06-18 13:14:19
So, did I miss a term on this sentence? Does it last a variable amount of time or a flat amount of time? Can it be worked off? How does being reformed work?

And, that's pretty darn nifty! cheer.gif
Unknown2009-06-18 13:15:33
LOL, if only I was a paladin, got damned then joined Magnagora...perfection.

Major props to the admins and Ilyarin for setting this system up. It's entertaining tongue.gif

As for the terms of the sentence, it can be worked off. Not going into specifics since that's probably a bit more IC than to be discussed on the forums.
Mirami2009-06-18 13:23:52
Wait, Jozan's still in Celest on the ruling council?

So, what all is this supposed to do, if not a formal method for Ostracizing?
Ilyarin2009-06-18 13:29:27
It basically Celest's most powerful RP punishment (beyond ostracising), a reason for positions to be contested (who wants a GM that has been forsaken by the Light?), without kicking them out of the city. Yes, it can be worked off, but it's bloody hard work!
Unknown2009-06-18 14:28:17
So how are you going to damn Talkan when he doesn't play anymore?
Kiradawea2009-06-18 14:32:44
The city have no power to force someone out of a guild position, short of throwing said individual out alltogether. It'll be up to the Tahtetso to decide if they want to keep a Damned Guildmaster or not.
Unknown2009-06-18 14:45:47
Yup, politics is about the people you know. Marion Barry is a perfect example of this.

Yup, politics is about the people you know. Marion Barry is a perfect example of this.

You know, I don't see a problem with Jozan being the Tahtetso GM and being gone from the light. Ever since the tahtetso came to Celest, people have been griping that they aren't "of the light".

RP FTW. Do it.
Oh, and this?

CODE
Doman, The Exalted Fool says, "It has recently come to my attention, from numerous sources, that Jozan's temper has made life within celest...unpleasant for some."

At least Jozan doesn't try to sleep with half the novices who come to Celest.
Daganev2009-06-18 16:28:03
How do you live with Jozan and Jozen.... That's just confusing!
Unknown2009-06-18 16:33:35
Obviously we can't! We had to make one of them Damned! Now we have Jozen and DAMNED Jozan.
Unknown2009-06-18 16:35:59
I find this to be good and cool, but a bit too influencable by various admins. If a players interpretation of the light clashes with the current possessor's, then he's just SOL

Welcome to the times of the Inquisition!
