Has this ever happened to anyone? Unfortunately, I lost my chance to get the conversation had with King Bolete, as well as that with Shitake and Fartoken, but I totally nabbed King Newtonson.

First, when reading the tag King Bolete wrote for his Queen, Adan had a laugh over "spunky spore" and "fungie wungie". As he was walking away, he received a tell from King Bolete asking if he was being mocked! At which point there followed a short conversation.

Later, Adan and Shitake had a legit. conversation on the evils of Pigs, the lesser evil of Momma Mia, and he was advised to hit Smoke Mountain. Finally, Adan spoke with Fartoken, and then:


You greet King Newtonson with a sincere smile.
King Newtonson says, "The finks invaded us ages ago from a faraway land. Now,
they murder us in our sleep! I'll handsomely reward you if you bring them to me.
Dead or alive."

You bow respectfully to King Newtonson.
King Newtonson nods his head at you.

With a flourish of his arm, King Newtonson bows deeply.

You flash the world a charmingly crooked grin.

King Newtonson says, "What can I help you with, Adan of the Starlit Overture??"

You say, "I'm a little torn, King. I recognize that I ought to be helping you
lot out, being in favor of the Light..."

You say, "But that Fartoken was fairly persuasive."

King Newtonson says, "What could Fartokan offer that we could possibly not equal
or even exceed??"

You have emoted: Adan spreads his hands wide.

You say, "Hero of the Finks!"

You say, "Of course. Finks being finks, that says only so much, but..."


King Newtonson says, "What I will offer you, then would be the title "Savour of
the Gnomes"! Don't you think a saviour is greater than a hero??"

King Newtonson coughs softly.

You ponder the situation.

The corners of your mouth turn up as you grin mischievously.

You put your hands on your hips and go "Hmmm!"

King Newtonson says, "Saviour, rather, not Savour."

You say, "Of course, of course."

King Newtonson exclaims, "Also, you will be aiding the Light propagate its
ideals!"

You nod your head emphatically.

You exclaim, "And I reckon I'm very for that!"

King Newtonson says, "Surely this is enough motivation to make aiding Fartokan a
less-than-appealing proposition."

You say, "Saviour of the Gnomes. Very nice."

You nod your head at King Newtonson.
King Newtonson stares implacably at you.

You say, "Plus the finks, you know... They smell a bit."

You curl your nose up and grimace awfully.

King Newtonson says, "Their stench carries far and wide, indeed."

You say, "It's hard to think of having to play nice, and help propogate not only
Anti-Light, but, well, poor hygiene."

You nod your head emphatically.

You clap your hands together merrily.

King Newtonson nods his head emphatically.

You say, "So! How should I start? Maisey?"

King Newtonson says, "That would be a prudent place to begin."

You give King Newtonson a respectful salute.
King Newtonson stares implacably at you.

You say, "I'm your man. Thanks!"



Does this happen a lot? I almost fell out of my chair when King Bolete sent a tell!

If I were a god, I would probably spend most of my time animating NPC's and conversing with people

Well, whichever of the gods did that... Props.

I heard that Guides can animate anything in the Newbie area.

That's awesome!

Guides or Gods, it was super kicking.

My leprechaun and the aslaran I was killing in the Moors suddenly talked to me... But it was just Astraea testing my loyalties...

I saw Mother Mucka pocessed once as a novice.

This one time, in Newton...

They did that to me when I just started out too. I don't have the log because well, back then I didn't actually know I could do that. Basicly though I think I tried to do the quest for Bolette and Morel (think thats her name) and each time I got to the point I had to deliver the item she got killed. So after about the third or fourth time I had knorrith asking the shroomies where the queen went got and left to vent my frustration on some finks. I got a tell from a shroomie saying that the queen was slain and they'd try to bring her back but it took time. Then later on the King sent me a tell and asked if the brave knight would help him. I did and just before I could finish it up she got slain again. I eventually got it done but leveled out before I could get the honor line.

Ahhh, what a bust! That must have been so frustrating. Why people feel the need to kill NPCs important for Quests ...

I'm glad I managed to get the line before leveling out, since Adan had gone and promised Newtonson he would!

Aww I wish NPC's talked to me. I've only heard of it, however
