Right now i'm bashing as a surged moonbursting mugwump serenguard. Having been gone a while i'd like to switch back to weapons and am wondering what the absolute best race is for that. Right now as options i'm seeing aslaran for speed, human (though i'd really rather not go human), dwarf for all around resistances with decent str/con, or switching to the ebonguard for shadowlord faeling.

My question is, which option would be the best? I'm level 87, trans moon, blademastery, surge in athletics.

Possibly the best race in the game. Maybe less so now that Shuyin isn't stacking domoths all over it...but still. Nice race.

Shadowlord and Aslaran are great if you are demi and can manipulate your strength via size. Dwarf is super tank and not too shabby for PK according to Ceren.

edit: Oh, Shadowlord is an obscene bashing machine. Easily the best bashing I've ever had.

I guess I'll elaborate on this more. Elfen Lord is a nice race, but maybe a little too hyped up due to the domoths it once had.

At level 87, you should be able to do well as a human, plus the xp bonus is nice. Krokani is also a very nice race for a warrior...great strength and con.

Well, what spec are you. I personally think Taurian is a really underused race for warriors. If you're bonecrusher, Krokani is a pretty good race. Human is great past lvl 90 given the xp boost and has fairly decent stats. Elfen, I don't think, is that fantastic to be honest. Even with all the domoths I had better stats than Shuyin did. Faeling and Aslaran aren't real tanky and with how things are right now, not real real viable for PK with the lower strength. Though for bashing I imagine they would be ok. I hear loboshigaru is ok but the magic damage penalty would likely eat you alive. Igasho is tanky and has BM spec bonus.. I don't think Dwarf is all that it's cracked up to be but I could be wrong. Orclach is supposedly half decent but has fire succeptibility.. and I think that's about it as far as warrior races go.

I'm gonna say the same thing I say about every other boring discussion regarding races: it's totally up to you. Race should be determined by how you want to RP, not how "cool" it is or how good it is regarding something. Min-maxers are silly.

I think your input in regards to racial discussions are rather boring myself and unproductive. Not everyone plays the game like you. I'd take PK over silly tree snuggling RP any day.

And not conducive at all to a poster asking what the "absolute best race is"...

I wonder how much transing magic goes towards negating the Lobo magic penalty. Taurian does look like a nice race, hard to argue with a racial ability that buffs your strength by 2.

Well, with drawdown, trans magic, and surge, I doubt the weakness will be really apparent against anyone other than Viynain.

Oh aren't you so very intelligent, you can quote help files! I'm very proud for you. Now, I'm the best race for my class/spec I'm pretty well as maxed out as you can get as a warrior. I'm sure I could kill you in less than 10 seconds.. and I do some forms of roleplaying! How exciting, I fit the description of what Lusternia requires. I'd most likely assume the latter. But then again I could be wrong and Estarra might start making Envoys out of the people she met at the tea party too.

She can quote them, but she apparently can't read them. "Some level of roleplaying is required," is the next line. The implication is that roleplaying isn't the required focus like it is in some MUDs. Combat is another focus, and it's perfectly acceptable to pick ideal races for combat and ROLEPLAY WITH THEM.

Athalas, "best race" is hard to define. It depends on your spec, whether you want to hunt/influence/PK, and stuff like that. The suggestions people have given are great, you just need to figure out which is best for you.

But I say go Trill .

Could have sworn moon also had an ability that just gave magic DMP, if you go Lobo, get magic proofings. Otherwise, expect to explode at the sight of magic damage.
