But are there any good FREE systems for NEXUS?
Yknow, Nexus? That um, one system you probably never hear anymore
If there is, please tell me, I like sticking to my Nexus, even though I dont know how to use it well.

It has been answered before.
Writing a complete system in nexus is nigh-impossible.

My internet certainley isnt Celest poo
Where do I download it?

if you're serious about staying on Nexus, there IS a nexus-combat system, although basically all it entails (That have worked for me) is a set of diagnose-triggers, along with auto-pipe-lighting and auto-resetting rebounding/sixthsense/etc, made by Macawi and posted on the forums here somewhere. Although, if you intend to be a combatant at all, you should get MUSH, and a system for it.

Oh dear gods, child! Get mush! :3
We can hook you up with systems and pluggins once you download that.

Lots and lots of plugins.

hmmm but does it have a mapper???
I need to replace my zmud 7.21 as any time I reinstall my PC getting it working again is a bit of a rigmarole as they no longer issue licenses. Was thinking of getting cmud, but if mush has mapper?

It doesn't have something like zmapper unfortunately.
I always hated zmapper though! It was so finicky!

I think every mapper pales in comparison to mudbot's, if only for MAP PATH, GO, ROOM TAG, and ROOM MARK. So nice, and your choice of clients doesn't matter

Ilyarin2009-08-16 10:50:13
I love mudbot's mapper.

Caffrey2009-08-16 10:53:40
hmm guess I'll have to stick to zmud for now then... I need the GUI interface to make it easier to shift stuff around and do layouts. Guess I'll have to download a trial of cmud to see what it's like.
Never used mudbot, but the ingame IRE mapper is pretty good, pretty easy to map areas with it.

Once you get past the learning curve (learning to make special exits, editing exit length to make the maps prettier, etc) with mudbot, its mapper is even easier. And the real bonus is that you can even map special exits and such, which the speedwalker can use. There's just no downside to it at all, really.

I've just completely my MudBot mapper port to pure Lua. My mapper is now an add-on for my Treant combat system, and it's pretty nice, if I do say so myself. Plus, you can use the in-game map with my miniwindow plugin (with or without my mapper script).
Whatever you do, get something better than Nexus. And, don't call me a racist bastard ever again.

It is nice, it has some kinks with speedwalking occassionally--getting tripped up, but still nice. Especially if you have a nose, or scry a lot.
