Inspired by the sort of rhyme used to recall the Seven Bright Shiners in the Old Kingdom trilogy, I wrote a little ditty of the sort that might be used by students or children to remember the Circles of the Elder Gods. It's part of my bardic submission, too.
Hear now the tale of the Elders great,
Thinkers and Leaders, yet betrayed by hate.
In Seven mighty circles were they arrayed,
each for a purpose was carefully made.
First, the Leaders, cunning and true.
Second, the Fighters, of valient thew.
Third, the Meditators, who thought from afar.
Fourth, the Artists of flower and star.
Fifth, the Thinkers, of wisdom hewn.
Sixth, the Awakeners of Night and Moon.
Seventh, the Creators, makers of life.
Eighth, the Soulless, sowers of strife.
These are the Gods of the earliest day,
fled or fallen as Soulless prey.
And yes, I know the Soulless aren't actually part of the Circles, but I thought they deserved mention anyway.
Comments are welcome, by the way.
No love?
