For two months in a row, I have not been able to come up with a suitable artisinal. I don't know what I should create that would be recognized as distinctly Lusternian. I could do yet another portrait of a character, but I wish to aim for two merits the next time I submit. I tried going for drawings of events and skills, but I can't seem to put the Lusternian into it, if that makes sense.


So, artists of Lusternia. What inspires you to create something for the artisinals?

Talking to random people. Random images that pop into my head and stay there. Pie.

Symbolism... and action, for that matter. A well-rendered depiction is nice and all, but meaning makes it far more interesting. (for example: linkage )

I'm of mind to encourage you toward trying skills/events.

-a Shadowdancer on a broom/summoning a redcap
-a Druid carving a totempole
-an adventurer being favoured by an Elder God
-enchanting greatrobes

I can't draw a stick figure with a ruler and another stick figure and tracing paper, so take this with a grain of salt the size of the Megalith, but... how about you look at the Archives pages for the skills, notice which ones use a piece of art that doesn't really suit the skill, and then do something that would? *flutter*

I'd try the 150+ in-game event posts. What did the invading toys look like, for example? What did it look like to see 10 people bashing an enormous penguin?

My inspiration, be it for writing or designs for the game is largely based on the descriptions of rooms and items.

Go around Ethereal Glomdoring or the Manifestation of Mother Night, or even the Manifestation of the Master Ravenwood, and LOOK every room, denizen, and item you come across.

Most of my stuff is photography. My artistic skills for drawing and painting are lax at best, but I enjoy taking photographs. I photograph things in the real world then take them into Painter X to paint them up a little. It got me a mention or two in artisnals. What is more is that I get a since I really did something fun and creative, even if not winning the gold.

I take commissions. Lately I've been wanting to draw the gods and various Blacktalon abilities, so take a look at people around you, or see if you can't find some cool descriptions of skills.
