So, as we all know (except probably the Magnagorans but hey, they'll deny it anyway!) Crucify is INCREDIBLY overpowered, it impales you, it stops you from curing 90% of things and even negates focus mind. And all for 7 power?! Why that's just...that's just so nice!
So my idea, is that we give this skill not only to Magnagorans but to every org! Why should they get such an overpowered ability that can wreck people not only in groups but in one-on-ones as well? Yeah, I couldn't think of an idea why either.
I think this change will severely level the playing field.
Alternatively! Up the power cost on crucify, it is clearly NOT a 7 power ability.

OMG! Can we also give Pinleg to monks? And the wiccans SO need Inquisition!

Of course I'm bitter, I want an 8p easy mode.

You want to trade off your 5p easy mode for an 8p easy mode? Why?

even though this is clearly a rage post, envoy report 264 is on crucify so it's being looked at.

It is a rage post! I'm enraged that Mag is the only one that gets to enjoy this kind of fun!

Crucify is useless to me, so I'll gladly trade for choke or sap.

Because my "easy mode" requires a set up, the 8p one is pretty much anytime, anywhere, as long as the demon is present, or you have your buddies to help you ectoplasm.

Actually, I laugh when Jozen crucifies me 1 on 1 first-thing. It's so very, very amusing.
It's more annoying when they have crucify-teams that re-crucify over and over the moment you get off the previous one, but when a single person uses it without preparation, you should be happy that they wasted 8p!

7 power, unless they were the one that ecto'd. Most of the time, crucify is a waste of power. Also, that probably usually gets the novvies pretty close to a finishing blow, Xenthos.

I kind of tied in the 1p ectoplasm with the 7p crucify cause I figured every Mag would at least knew that their whole deal is ecto -> crucify. Apparently Jozen didn't pass that class though.

Crucifixion that actually sticks requires more setup than sap. Sap requires you to have balance and your opponent to not have balance right before your demesne ticks. While I understand (probably better than you!) that that's easier said than done, crucify is a powerful skill when in talented hands, which is pretty far from "easy mode." That's a class with a higher skill:reward cap than most, which is itself an issue that I've rallied against for a long, long time, but...not the same.
Group combat with either sap or crucify are both pretty lame, but so are a lot of coordinated attacks. Crucify rotations suck ass, but why don't you have a five-man Druidic Death Squad set up some shared triggers for five guaranteed kills in 24 seconds?

In group combat it's usually easier to get away from sap than crucify simply because usually commands will still go through (just slower). Sap at 0.5s is hardly the devil, and demesne tick & sap by itself is also not going to work all that well by itself either on anyone who can handle it.

We have 3 people that can actually Sap, and since only 1 of those is a Demithing me and the other druid pretty much die in the first 2 hits that we take (gogo damage scaling that "works as intended")
Mods: You can probably go on and close this thread, it was a rage post and I pretty much cooled down since then. Sorry!

Go go failed reading comprehension? That be thornrend, bud.
Unknown2009-09-26 01:53:53
No one should ever be able to keep a person off-balance and virtually unable to cure for 30+ seconds. I would've gone the other way with this suggestion, though: removal of the ability and replace it with something covered in soft, spongy material.

Actually, no, in your previous post you said "5p easy mode" so I had thought your "Druidic Death Squad" was something pertaining to sap. As the posts up until now had pertained to crucify and to a lesser degree sap, I was more in that thinking rather than even thinking about thornrend.
And I also agree with Zarquan; but as it's not likely to get deleted we'll have to settle with it being more costly.

This should be pretty obvious.
Ideas is not idiots, and is for serious suggestions, not for you to vent your anger at group skills via threads that aren't really suggesting anything (except that you're upset).
