Need some info on hooking up a PS 3 to a wireless internet provider. Any help?
Krackenor2009-10-21 00:29:18
Step 1: Turn on the PS3
Step 2: Scroll over to 'Settings' and select 'Network Settings'
Step 3: Select 'Internet Connection Settings'
Step 4: Follow the instructions that the system gives you.
You should be good from there. You just need to imput the wireless information (ID/Password/etc) and you'll be good to go!

I am going to have to get with my provider. Don't know the password.
Krackenor2009-10-21 00:56:05
hmm...this may seem a silly question, but you do have wireless capabilities, right? If so, I believe that the password comes with the router.

I was not the one who set it up. A tech did it when we got everything set up.
Krackenor2009-10-21 01:27:43
Ah...Okay!

Its a Netgear cg814gcmr if that helps.
Would the company that set it up have the number or where else can I get it.
Don't laugh at the old ... I am grateful I can program the dvd player and the microwave.

If they never gave you a password, the default username is admin and the default password is password.

Most netgear wireless routers have a default ip of 192.168.1.1. Type that number into your internet browser's address bar and you should be able to access the menu to set passwords and such.
Note, using easy --> wireless --> scan in the network connections SHOULD do the trick, once you know the password. If it doesn't, then...get back to us. Sometimes there are weird issues, but they are lengthy to explain.

I always thought that the wireless access passwords were something one set for themselves...?

I don't think so...I wouldn't willingly set X9LPA359DMP4 as a password.
EDIT: That is, of course, just an example...not my real password.
