Does anyone have any information on what the natural miss rate is for physical attacks? With and without sharpness oil would be excellent, but I'll take whatever I can get.
I've noticed that I miss prone targets a lot more than I used to with armed and unarmed kata attacks. I'll run some tests to see if I'm imagining things, but first need something to compare them to. I'm only concerned about prone targets here so stance, acrobatics dodging etc shouldn't be an issue.
Thanks!

I believe for transcendent one-hander warriors it is 6%.

Has anyone done a decent test of the sharpness oil?

My hit/miss tracker showed that it reduced the chance by about 1%.

How significant is that over a few hours of hunting or something?

For PvE you would not notice the impact. In order to result in an extra kill you would have to be chain killing for hours.
In PvP every little bit helps I guess.

If you have an excellent critical hit rate, the effects are more noticeable.

Real rough math here but assuming two attacks every 4 seconds with unlimited enemies to attack (astral?) you would see 1800 attacks in an hour. That would mean around 18 less misses. With a 51.2% max crit rate you would see something like 0-9 more mobs dead in that time period. The number would depend on exactly how many normal attacks it was taking you to kill them and your luck at getting the upper level crits.
Said another way you would see far less than a 1% change in your exp/hour or essence/hour or whatever metric you were watching.

Sure. I wasn't saying the results would be phenomenal, but more noticeable. Of course, over the longer term, you won't see the difference as much as you might on a single mob. And, you will never truly know that the one-shot kill you just got on something would've been a miss without the oil.
I agree that it's more helpful in PvP than PvE, definitely.
