=== Pyromancy Changes ===

o The burn levels have been slightly widened.

o Wildfire has been removed.

o Cremate has been raised to 5p from 3p.

o Firerain no longer has a chance to amputate limbs.

o Incinerate now has a chance to amputate limbs and has been raised to
4p.

o Firerain now knocks down flyers/people in trees.

=== Aeromancy Changes ===

o Zephyr and Soothingclouds have been removed.

o Westwind now will cure a random affliction as well as some health,
mana, and ego.

o Cyclone's damage type has been changed from 50% blunt and 50%
electrical to 50% cold and 50% electrical.

o Thundercloud now has a knockdown effect.

o Eastwind, Northwind, and Southwind have been added as new demesne
effects. Please see the ABs. Note: new affliction with Northwind, and
FirstAid has already been updated to accommodate.

o New instakill skill - DysbaricPressure. Please see the AB.

o Chainlightning has been removed.

Ok can someone post the new 'wind' skills, and maybe the lines and what they do (least for northwind).

As for Pyros...

You all just just owned. Pyromancers now have 0 passive hindering, minor passive afflicting, far lower amounts of burns and harder to reach each burn level, and lost the only hindering they did have (amputate). You all have my sympathy and should be offered a refund to go to a better guild.

Aeromancers based on first view, lost some affliction curing, but gained alot more offense I am guessing. Knockdown on thundercloud means it also causes balance loss I assume?

Down with pyromancers!

But in all seriousness, have any pyros had some test or practice spars after the change to see how effective or ineffective the class is now? Pyros were pretty damn strong before. Overly. Some changes were needed, no doubt about that.

Updates are on the Lore wiki.
Xavius2010-04-22 17:59:27
Dysbaric pressure should not exist. Could you imagine druids with thornlash if you didn't have to track curing, your demesne lashed passively, rending had half the power cost, and the rend triggered automatically while lashing so groups didn't have to coordinate?

Anyways, can someone clarify what Eastwind does?

Lolwot. They needed this for the longest time. Besides, it's easy to speculate. Let's see how people do before we go crazy and claim Pyromancers are UP.
Aliod2010-04-22 18:14:30
Well I mean as it looks now, you could just walk away from the demesne, with minimal effort, but then again this is also just speculating/spit-balling <--- new fav word

A piercing breeze rises up, turning into an angry gust that blows past you.

Thunder roars and a bolt of lightning strikes you, knocking you to the ground.
stand
A swift gust from the east pierces at your extremities.

You are:
suffering from a pierced left arm. <--- Eastwind

Bands of clouds roll in and bring a choking grip to the air.

A cold wind blows chill grey clouds in from the north. The clouds circle around you, suddenly constricting into a tight band of compressed air that makes it hard to breathe.

You are:
strangled by 1 coils of cloud.

firstaid
You are:
strangled by 3 coils of cloud.
(cloudcoils - cured by smoke faeleaf)

Since all the winds have direction names, it would be cool if they hit you when you move in that direction!
Unknown2010-04-22 19:09:25
I like how every meld but your own is the worst one in the game but everyone else's is OP. I've heard this from druids, geos, aquas, aeros, and now pyros.

The circle is now complete.

Fun stuff on the report, though could east wind's message change specify which limb got pierced?
Nienla2010-04-22 20:40:51
Cloudcoil should probably be changed from Faeleaf to something else, and give a message when it's cured.
Unknown2010-04-22 20:45:06
I figured the whole idea was to make faeleaf trickier, and it already does give a message when cured.

Rather, it should tell you how many coils you have left. Akin to when you sip fire when freezing, or apply liniment for burns.

Consider it to be similar to preserve, but without the health requirements and no power cost if they're not instakilled. And a lower overall power cost, too.

EDIT: There's also no "ignite-to-clear-all-affs", and faeleaf is slower than sip frost.
Shaddus2010-04-23 01:06:21
Yeah, Eastwind should probably be smoke myrtle. You know, like pierced limbs? (I think)
Unknown2010-04-23 01:20:55
Eastwind is pierced limbs...
Xiel2010-04-23 01:55:03
Shaddus, you silly.
Unknown2010-04-23 02:45:32
Maybe if you writhe the clouds aren't wrapped around you anymore? smile.gif
Malarious2010-04-26 07:07:12
Sorry, was distracted awhile... anyway heres the update on Pyros.

The change to burns between levels was supposedly a small change, but a tic of demesne wont even push you to second level (someone said if every effect hits for max you can be just barely pushed to second).

Aeromancers got alot of love.

Pyromancers could now use a break leg skill and maybe have firerain show messages based on burns

1st> As liquid flame covers $target's body you hear their skin sizzle.
2nd> As a shower of flames cascades over $target, you notice their flesh beginning to blister.
3rd> You notice $target cringing in pain as their skin readens and shows signs of charring.
4th> $target's skin begins to drip freely from $his body as fire rains over $his weakened form.

Break leg is a mild aff but with some of the other salve afflictions would both help with burns and help to actively hinder.
Unknown2010-04-26 11:05:42
I hear telekinetics can break legs.

I hear every other demesne has passive effects besides Pyros now.
