Hello everyone, I'm completely new to Lusternia. I made a Viscanti Bard for roleplaying reasons, but after searching through the forums I see a lot of negatives, but nothing in-depth. Can anyone explain to me the main pros and cons of a Viscanti bard? I really only plan on hunting and roleplaying, maybe dabble in group PK when I get bigger

Are you sure what you saw were actually negatives and not someone going, "OH CRAP! OH CRAP! A VISCANTI BARD!!!"
Because that does kind of sound negative, but it's misleading.
(Bards are great, bard specced Viscanti have one of the better bard specs, good bashing, and the Cacophony has some good RPers in it. You'll have fun, especially given your interests. I vote for keeping it.)

Viscanti bards are good in the Cacophony, not other guilds.

Lower int/cha than other spec'd bards means lower damage, but much more con and great resists + solid skills means you'll have a lot of potential in other areas. Probably not the best bard race around, but you can easily make it work. Assuming you mean the Cacophony, though. (A lot of new players make the mistake of thinking a race specializes in an archetype, rather than a specific guild.)

Well I have to agree with you guys, I went from level 5 to level 25 in only a couple days and died only once. It's very much different from Achaea bards, and I like the ability to compose your own lyrics with your stanzas. And the Cacophony folks have been very helpful!

Right, there isn't a whole lot in this game that is very comparable to Achaea. There are the few legacy rapture things but other than that as far as classes and such go it is fairly unique here. After playing here for.. However many years I have and then playing another IRE game I feel like I found the settings and turned the game on super easy. That aside, yes spec viscanti is a fairly decent bard. You will eventually come to find that damage kills are not real real possible (auric affliction damage/discordantchord aside) and that you will be focusing more on your afflictions and instas. As has been said viscanti have some nice resists but really their only downfall to me is the sip malus.
