Okay, so when I get a chance to log into Lakya I'll check to see what skill levels I'm at.

But there are some things I don't understand about it at all.

Katas? What are they, how do they work, what do you do with them?

On an unrelated note, the damage modifiers... anyone out there play DnD regularly? Are the damage modifiers similar to that?

EDIT: Well, now that Kante has completely made fun of me IG.... >.>

A kata is a combination of customizable, concurrent offensive actions set within the scope of one attack round.

You are constrained to three attacks per kata: one-hand/one-hand/kick OR two-hand/kick at most. Cannot use three-hands or two kicks in one kata. There are a variety of different one-hand, two-hand, and kick maneuvers. The following should get you setup with a basic hunting kata.

CODE
The following is an example of how to set up a basic kata hunting combo:

KATA STUDY HUNT1
KATA DEVELOP HUNT ACTION 1 PUNCH RIGHT
KATA DEVELOP HUNT ACTION 2 PUNCH LEFT
KATA DEVELOP HUNT ACTION 3 KICK RIGHT
Total ka used: 200
momentum needed: 1+
(This kata should be used to build momentum to level 2.)

KATA STUDY HUNT2
KATA DEVELOP HUNT2 ACTION 1 PUNCH RIGHT
KATA DEVELOP HUNT2 ACTION 2 PUNCH LEFT
KATA DEVELOP HUNT2 ACTION 3 KICK RIGHT
KATA DEVELOP HUNT2 MODIFIERS SPEED
total kata used: 300
momentum needed: 2+
(This kata should be used at level 2.)

KATA STUDY RHUNT
KATA DEVELOP RHUNT ACTION 1 RAZE RIGHT
KATA DEVELOP RHUNT ACTION 2 PUNCH LEFT
KATA DEVELOP RHUNT ACTION 3 KICK RIGHT
total kata used: 200
momentum needed: 1+
(This kata should be used to raze your target's shield)

To begin this kata on a target just
KATA PERFORM (target) HUNT1 HUNT1 HUNT2 HUNT2 HUNT2 HUNT2
Add RHUNT when necessary.

Alternatively, you can:
KATA PERFORM (target) HUNT1/HUNT2 individually as you regain balance,
razing (with RHUNT) as necessary.)

Secondly, katas are limited to KA WEIGHT which is determined by momentum level. Most successful attacks will increase momentum by one level. At least one attack (and a power boost) can increase two or more. Many of your affliction-heavy attacks will drop you a momentum. Changing targets will drop you two levels. Any guild leadership, undersec and up should be able to teach you a basic hunting kata. Seek out you security/protector/GC for combat related katas. Katas are then string together into a kata performance. This will allow you to unleash a planned succession of multiple rounds of timed-attack with one command. There is a noticeable boost to speed after the third kata form in a kata chain.

Seek out guild leadership to learn about ninjakari specific modifiers. Your basic go-to mods are speed (works for hunting/combat) and strength soft (to increase wounds/bleeding;combat only). Strength hard does not work within hunting. Mods particular to the kata skillset proc on higher wounds and only with unarmed kata attacks. Your guild skills will offer an improvement on these basic mods, and can be used in tandem with armed attacks.

We understand it is daunting but we have both GHELP FORMS and GHELP QUICKREF.

GHELP FORMS will describe how to make forms but the above was spot on.

GHELP QUICKREF lists every major mod we can use and each action, if it drops mo, etc etc, and what it does in each location.

Oh... thank you! I really need to log into Lakya and play for a bit. I will check those out scrolls. I actually should be reading a lot of stuff and start building the triggers and aliases for her...
